I've stood up and went for two little walks in the ward. My new friend is starting to make noises and the bag has puffed out a bit lol this eve so thats a good sign as well. This healing is going to take some time, laying in this hospital bed is tough to do though. Welcome to this new world! Hope you are doing well and looking forward to your hospital meals - as I recall, I had liquids the first day, graduated to very soft things to eat, then normal food by the time I left the hospital (I was there four days), and the food tasted delicious to me. And you’re walking - good for you! Colostomy 4/30/18. From remembering my time after surgery you are streets ahead! Good on you. 💪 ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns That is great that you are doing so well!! You are so far ahead of where I was after surgery. I think I was still in ICU at this point, and still didn’t even realize I had a stoma, or even what a stoma was. 🤣 It was a huge accomplishment a few days later when I was able to walk to the door of my room, with a walker. Way to go, Archie!! -Liza Its really encouraging that you are up and walking. Keep it up as it does help in recovery. Thanks for keeping us posted too. Onset of severe Ulcerative Colitus Oct.2012. Subtotal colectomy with illiostomy July 2015; Peristomal hernia repair ( Sugarbaker, mesh, laparoscopic) May 2017. Great job, Archie. Weird feeling walking around after abdominal surgery, huh? You'll be running laps over there soon. I remember how good if felt to walk and get out of that bed, even though it was a bit painful. Ulcerative Colitis (1995)
