Hello Everyone, What I post is not ostomy related but it’s inspirational. I am sure no matter where in the world you are you may have heard of a guy called Tom Moore. He started way back in April with an idea that he would walk around his garden to raise funds for the NHS (UK Health Service) he wanted to do his bit to fight Covid. No one could have guessed what was to follow. He walked and walked did TV interviews and the support grew!! The final total was £ 33 000 000. He had a Uk number 1 hit single he was given a Knight Hood by the Queen he inspired others many badly handicapped to raise money. Did I happen to mention he was 💯. Well the sad sad news is he contracted Covid last week and passed away this afternoon. God Bless Tom rest in peace 🙏 ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns John, I saw yesterday that Captain Tom had been hospitalized with Covid, and I thought Oh no! This can’t end well! And of course, it didn’t. So sad for him, especially considering how much money he raised for the NHS, reeling under the strain of caring for Covid patients. If there is a silver lining, it is that in his last year of life - his 100th year - he made such a difference, and captured the hearts and admiration of people all over the world. To top it off, he was knighted by the Queen, something he probably never dreamed would happen to him. I guess the moral of the story is that we all die at some point, but Sir Tom could teach us all something about living well. 😢 Laurie Just a semicolon John...Yes, It was on our news about captain Sir Tom Moore as well. Such a dear man. We were following his progress as he walked. It was so great to see the support he deserved as he made his journey. What he did by walking as well as he could and raising such a huge amount of money was extremely commendable. He certainly deserved being Called SIR & CAPTAIN! May he rest in peace and may his family know his example was admired right into Canada 🇨🇦! My prayers are with his family as they deal with the loss of the precious contribution he alone was to the world. Linda
