Sometimes it takes a few minutes to empty out a bag.  I was wondering if there's a product out there that's like a disposable liner, when you need to empty a bag, you just pull out this liner and discard it in order to save time or odors in public. i know it doesn't sound environmentally friendly but I was thinking that such a liner would make it much easier to empty quickly while at work. Yes, liners are popular with colostomates and many swear by them! I have a mini guide for them here: https://www.veganostomy.ca/mini-guide-to-ostomy-pouch-liners/ They don't work as well for ileostomies because it can be messy with anything but dry, solid stool. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. You can try putting in some gelling sachets into the pouch liner to see if that helps make removing the liner less messy. The trade-off is cost because if you're emptying 6-8 times a day/night, you're going to burn through a LOT of sachets which can be expensive if they aren't covered by your insurance. If your plumbing system is a septic tank, you definitely don't want to flush the liner down the toilet as it will end up eventually clogging the system. One of my acquaintances has an ileostomy and uses the liners. When she removes the liner from the pouch, she empties the contents into the toilet, knots off the top of the liner to stop odor, and tosses the messy liner into the trash. Another person I know buys the dog poop bags to use as liners (again, no flushing down the toilet); she gets them at a dollar store so it's 100 bags for $1 !!! The real ostomy liners I've used are super thin, but I can't imagine using something thicker (it may cause the flange to not snap properly). I may have to pay more attention to them the next time I'm at the dollar store! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Aren't those bags thick? Nope, the bags are super thin, like the bags that newspapers come in (in the US). They seem to be about the same thickness as the colomagic liners, I think.  That's pretty impressive!! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Ys, Ilona, there are disposable pouch liners and they are made by a company called Colomajic out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  Website is:  www.colomajic.com   The liners are $31.50 for a box of 100, and I LOVE THEM!!!!  Been using them now for nigh onto three years and they have saved me MEGA bucks!!!  I'm allowed 60 pouches per month (I used closed Hollister pouches) and that's no where near the number of pouches I need.  I was using 60 pouches in the first week, so my out-of-pocket expense for additional pouches was horrendous! I take a whole box of new pouches and line them.  When I need new pouches, I just go to the box of lined pouches and, presto zappo, there they are.  I normally use my pouches many, many times.  I mark a hash mark on the back of them with Magic Marker, and I'm using several that have been re-lined and re-used seven or eight times.  That's an enormous savings!!!  As I empty and pull the liner out of a pouch, I pull it open so the condensation inside can dry out.  At the end of the day while I'm watching TV, I re-line those dry pouches and get them ready to go again.  Yes, there will be condensation inside your pouch.  You'll see it.  It looks like wet dots.  So just pull it open so it can dry out.  It will take a few hours and then you can re-line the pouch.  I carry at least 5 lined pouches in my to-go kit.  I look at it this way:  I have 5 lined pouches and when I pull out the used liners, I have 5 more clean pouches ready to go even if they are discarded after their use. Sometimes my colostomy's output is very, very soupy and very liquid.  Sometimes it's semi-solid.  The Colomajic liners work well in either case for me and I've never had a problem either way with them.  Go to Colomajic's site and ask them to send you samples.  Use the size of the flange on your pouches to determine what size you need.  I use the medium and they work perfectly well for me!!!  Hope this helps, Ilona!  Best wishes!!! I'm going to check this out.  Thank you! Can these be used with other than the click kind of system? I haven't figured out how that would work with either the one- or two-piece adhesive system. I don't have the flexibility and strength in my fingers to apply the click kind. I ordered a sample pack and have yet to use them. Can these be used with other than the click kind of system?ordered a sample pack and have yet to use them. In my limited experience using them, I'd say yes but it's not easy - assuming you're referring to the Coloplast click system. And I would not recommend these in an adhesive 2pc system at all. Perhaps someone with more experience with the click system can offer some tips. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Hi, nancyab!!!  I use Hollister New Image two-piece system with my permanent colostomy.  The Hollister barrier and my closed end pouches just "snap" together.  I don't have to "click" anything to get them to stay together.  Go to Hollister's web site:  www.hollister.com   and take a look at the New Image line of two-piece barriers and pouches and then you'll see and understand what I'm saying. When I put my pouch onto the barrier, I just line up the "female" pouch flange with the "male" barrier flange, and they go together just by snapping them together.  There is an audible "click" or "snap" or whatever you want to call it sound, so you know they're matched up and the pouch is secure.  (I always double-check anyway by looking or feeling around the flange.) Also, the Colomajic liners would not work at all with a one-piece system because you have to be able to get the pouch off to be able to remove the filled liner.  I don't ever use a one-piece system, so I have no experience with them, but I can't possibly see how they would work. Please go to Hollister's site and look at the New Image line.  That will help explain what I do.  The Colomajic liners have been a godsend for me and have saved me many, many dollars because I don't have to buy eight or more boxes of closed end pouches every month.  (I don't care for the pouches you have to empty.)  Hope this helps you. Thanks for info. I'm going to see if they can send me a sample.
