I’m sure we have all had cause to “burp” our bags at times. I had a thought that maybe burp isn’t the best term. I think that it might be more accurate and sort of funny if we start saying we are “farting” our bags. 😂 Anyone else on board with this idea?? -Liza I'd say the...um...olfactory experience favors something other than a burp. LOL! Tony Tony and Liza, you made me laugh! - I will say here that, for me, burping can be a risky sport :-D ! If I can wait until I can empty my bag or just release the air from the bottom, that is what I usually I do. Haven’t tried an EZ-Vent (Osto-Vent?) but have done all right. Colostomy 4/30/18. I'm not saying I came up with the idea of calling it "burping the bag", but I'm sure someone thought it best not to say "farting the bag" so I'll leave it at that! LOL  But Liza, I'm sure you've already noticed that there seem to be two names for everything in the ostomy world! Bags, pouches; Wafers, baseplates; Medium size, Midi; Burb, fart, etc. It's all the same to us ;) Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. The only way I fart my bag is from the bottom. It seems very risky to me to detach it from the flange to get rid of the air. 😀 -Liza I was brought up to know that men break wind cos they are like farm animals and that's where they belong in the farm yard as their always F*rting. Ladies merely glow with the radiance of their beauty. The slight redness of their face they would divert the attention by blaming the dog or the wind blew the smell in from the farm yard and would suggest someone open a window to let the smell out! So I haven't given you an answer other than LADIES don't Fa*T ;-) Colostomy Jan 2020 My Dad always referred to a very proper or proud person as “They fart perfume and pass toothpaste “ i have edited as not to be rude 😂👍 ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns
