By request (@arichards159), here are some photos of a product from a now-defunct company called the "Ostomy pouch pocket". It's genius in design, and not only helps to support the bag, but it also conceals the bag as it hangs outside of your pants. I received a few as samples, and before I could review them, the company went away. They look easy enough to make if you're good with a sewing machine. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Hanger clips. These are actually called "webbing ending clips", and I have an Amazon affiliate link for anyone who is interested ( https://amzn.to/4kl5Gkd). Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. That's an interesting set-up! But, what does it hook to, to stay on? Linda Thank you Eric. This is exactly what I needed to see to make some of my own. I just can't find anything that'll do the trick better for me based on placement. Going to need to befriend a sewer! Appreciate the pictures and amazon link. You have NO IDEA how long I searched the web for the right clips. Never would have come up with "webbing ending" tho That's an interesting set-up! But, what does it hook to, to stay on? A belt, ideally. But I've had them hook onto regular shorts, athletic shorts, cycling shorts, pants without belts, etc. You have NO IDEA how long I searched the web for the right clips. Never would have come up with "webbing ending" tho Through regular keywords, I couldn't find them at all. But fortunately, I used a reverse image search to find these! Good luck! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. @arichards159 ... Amy, try finding someone in Alterations. If you sew, these would be pretty easy to figure out. You'd need your length for your specific pouch and width on a full pouch of air. So add the circumference of the pouch with air to your pocket. Create a pocket & by looking at the pictures Eric so kindly provided, you could make this at home. Add an elastic if you like at the top around one edge to gather the extra material from a air filled pouch. The one major thing with working with the straps for the clips is to make sure your sewing machine *needle sharpness* are matching the product you'll use them on. Like the jeans needle for sewing Jean material. Plus, use a strong thread as for recommended to use on jeans and make sure you use the same thread in your bobbin as well. When I purchase material for sewing clothes, I buy 2 spools of SAME thread, one for the top of the machine and one for filling the bobbin. This way they work together nicely. Store them together labled in a baggie or whatever method you prefer & what you used them on. I always have extra bobbins for my machines to do this. Buying 2 spools of thread means I never need run out for more bcuz of sharing the top one spool of thread with the bobbin thread. I've worked with these straps before repairing kids backpacks and the needle sharpness is the key to success. Buy extra incase of breakage. I believe I used the Jean Needles for it back then. There are patterns online , search for Ostomy Bag Covers to make ones for just covering your pouch after a shower or wearing it outside of your britches! Lol! Its pretty easy to make. Unfortunately the last several years my vision issues have caused my good intentions to waver! I so wanted to gift pouch covers to a few here who needed them as newbies. You can buy all sorts of fun materials for an ostomy cover, look into *quilting fabrics*. They are a stronger more beautiful & fun fabric & a 1/4 yard makes the fabric affordable. Thank you Eric for your replies, all the time! You do a fabulous job keeping your VO site running so well for all of us! YOU are amazing & so appreciated!! I'm aware how long it takes me to reply to some needs here, so I know this takes away from family time too. Please be sure & let your wife & family know she / they too are SO appreciated for sharing you with us as well. Linda Here is a product from Etsy. Something like the Pouch Pocket. Price is a little high at $70. Bill @bago ... Wow! There's really a great variety out there! Some are very costly. Thank you for sharing the link. I was thinking about the one Eric was talking about, that it might be good to hook to my pants when I'm out in the garden weeding, it could hold my phone. I don't care to have my phone in my pockets, so, this might work better! Linda @bago Funny enough, that one on Etsy looks to be identical to the "Ostomy Amigo" product I've reviewed years ago (the company went under). I'm not sure if that Etsy one is a knockoff, or if they have the rights to reproduce them, but I agree that they are expensive! Between the Ostomy Amigo and Pouch Pocket, I much prefer the Pouch Pocket for its simplicity and it's less bulky. However, it doesn't fully conceal the bag like the Ostomy Amigo. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate.
