John Lol You got me again with Culchie ? Yes did like finally doing the shower and no mishaps either good deal . I don't have to worry to much about the corn fields here there are some but mostly Grapes , Dates and Citrus trees might have to be careful stripping off and running threw those . Would surely have the Peelers after me in no time !

Good Morning to ye John ! That is a good video beautiful country looks a little damper and a little muddier than here . But beautiful for sure . I have a little Irish blood in me from my Dad's side of the family . I would like to visit there someday but we will see . Friend of mine was just over there she said it was beautiful and from her pictures it was . The tune in the video sounds like the same as a country song over here that is called Drunk on a Plane by Dierks Bentley  . Good song here and on the video .

Hey John I will look back at the video and look for you on your Dads knee for sure . So your family is into farming it looks like . Had some farmers in my family to but they were back in Iowa . Haven't researched my roots but been wanting to do that out of curiosity . As it happens there was a guy who worked as a lookout (but was not on duty at the time) on the Titanic who survived who has the same last name as me and I believe he was from Ireland . I will put it on my list and if I do get there I would love to have a pint or 2 with ye ! BTW I have know gotten to use Loo , Peelers and offy and gravy rings in conversation . LOL . If I do get to Ireland I'll be versed in some of the language ! Haha

Marcie - I have an ileostomy also.  When I shower I try to wait for a time when digestion is not active.  That is not always possible though.  I shower without any pouch.  I dry my abdomen with paper towels and then I put the cap over my stoma (no wafer is needed it sticks to your skin) while I dry off.  I can usually use it while I lotion or blow dry my hair etc without worrying about it leaking before I put my pouch back on.  If it is an active time it only last long enough to dry off peacefully - about ten minutes.  If it is not active, it lasts longer catching any liquid or mucus leaking.  It is nice to be naked without a pouch hanging and to shower and dry off without worrying!

Nope!  No wafer is needed it has adhesive on the side that attaches to your skin.  It is very temporary!  Only to catch the dripping while drying and fussing after the shower.  It feels GREAT to let the whole thing air out and water to just run off of you!  You have to try it!

Here is the link.  I get them at Edgepark.  I will send pics of it.

I don't know.  I just stumbled upon them online when ordering my regular supplies from Edgepark and I thought - I think these will work after my shower!

I'm so excited for you!!  It is a fantastic feeling.  One of my biggest challenges after ostomy surgery was showering.  I tried one thing after another but never thought I would be able to really enjoy a relaxing shower again in my life.  These little things are a godsend for me!  I hope it goes well for you, Marcie.  I also hope that Tammy sees the post since she started it asking about the caps.

Yes!  I love baths, but seeing my stupid pouch bobbing up and around is a bit discusting! And that is when the dumb filter starts to work and the pouch starts to fill up--( like hang in there baby) But I do love long baths.. But as the winter is close, the showers will be well in need..

Kind of a free feeling of once was huh?  At least the closest to it anyway.. M.
