When Cymed had the initial issues with the pouch change (back in 2018, I believe), I had been using the Cymed 2-piece and loved it. A the time they had the issues with the pouches, I had a good supply of barriers, so I combined the Cymed barriers with the Convatec Esteem Synergy pouches to get me through that period. I would occasionally have some separation issues between the pouch and barriers, but I got by with them. After Cymed redesigned their pouches to "fix" the original problem, I went back to using the Cymed barriers and pouches. They worked okay and the pouches were much better than the problem ones, but I still had the occasional separation issues between the barrier and pouch, just like when I was combining the Cymed barrier with the Convatec pouch. The adhesive between the pouch and barrier was just not as good as before. In the end, I switched to using the Cymed one-piece and haven't had any issues. For the last couple years they have been working just as well as the pre-2018 Cymed 2-piece ones. I haven’t tried one piece bags (at least for the past 13 yrs) Yes, the assumption would be that the leak was because of the adhesive breakdown, but I fixed that with using skin tac on the water before I stuck the bag on and it’s been a game changer. The leaks are coming from the bags coming apart at the seam down at the bottom of the bag. It’s definitely a manufacturing problem. for me the Coloplaspt Sensura is a good option for the microskin. since I first used cymed Coloplast has improved adhesion properties. I can go past 7days wear time. 1 piece . for me the Coloplaspt Sensura is a good option for the microskin. since I first used cymed Coloplast has improved adhesion properties. I can go past 7days wear time. 1 piece . Is it the Sensura MIO or another variant in the Sensura line? Coloplast put everything under the Sensura banner. LOL Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. @jazz99 Hi, I know I am responding to a very old post. Question, you say the Stomocur product was identical or nearly so to the original Cymed bags. When I was in contact with Cymed (back when Nina was QC) around 2018, the CEO, his name slips my mind right now, told me that the new bags were in place because the company that provided their original bags from another country couldnt justify the ordering still, because there weren't enough clients in the US, so Cymed starting making their own bags. I believe, actually I'm quite positive that Stomocur was the original manufacturer. I was looking through Stomacur's 2020 product catalog and MICRO-SKIN is being offered as one of the wafers available with their products. So, CYMED is working with Stomacur providing their wafers. My question is, why can't we order Stomocur bags? Also, when you were ordering stomocur bags how were you ordering them, before they stopped coming to the U.S.? I swear I would give an arm to go back to the original bags provided by Stomocur/Cymed. I understand we are probably dealing with patents and FDA regulations etc... I'd love to see if @veganostomy could contact and see what he could accomplish with this situation. Sorry, an update to my earlier post. I tried new bags. I don't like any of them. I'm kindof being a brat about it. . . which I completely understand doesn't help or change the situation, but I'm pissed. I went through the bulk of my backstock of Cymed bags. Almost all of them have the same Lot/Batch# so. . . Edgepark is sending me new product from a different warehouse than my normal warehouse hoping that we get away from this LOT. I cannot get anyone to call me back or answer my phone call in QC. In looking through Vegan Ostomys site, I'm close to "hacking" my system, by using a cymed microskin wafer with a different adhesive manufactured bag. I have some Coloplast that may work. As I said in my earlier question to @jazz99 I believe our original bags are being manufactured. . . Just not here in the U.S. @Momof3boys - Yes! That's it exactly. The old (good) pouches were and still are being made by ForLife / Stomocur in Germany. They used to be distributed in the US by Edgepark, but then Edgepark quit carrying any ForLife products. They are still available in Canada, and i looked into ordering from a place there. Even made an appeal to my insurance company to allow it and gave all the reasons it was "medically necessary." But they declined, and the retail price, plus shipping from Canada was more than i could justify. So frustrating! I even tried reaching out to the company in Germany via their website (using google translate!!) but no reply. And FWIW, i finally gave up on the Cymed copies. So deeply disappointing. Using Hollister CeraPlus one piece. Not the same, but.... sigh.
