Started the morning with a grape mango juice since it was clear and would not alarm the Ostomy nurse. Brought Gatorade to drink, been working on water since I drank the Gatorades I had.

Checking the menu I see herbal tea, I assume it's hot, and grape juice. Dr cleared me to eat, so I'll be ordering those with my meal. Looks like they changed vendors, menu looks pretty good.

Oscar perversely enough started chugging out fluids now. Right little bastard.

Hi Felicity, Sorry you are in Hosp, but glad to hear Oscar is putting out some fluid. AT least you are where they can fix anything that needs to be fixed and you are hydrated. I hope you can find some decent food there.. always a challenge.

Ate an ok food service cheeseburger. The kind with faux smokey flavor and fake grill marks. Good Mac and cheese. Ok apple pie. Typical grape juice. Water for tea was pretty lukewarm but it was an ok brand of teabag, Ceylon but Earl Grey is better. I love the floral taste of it and it's even better with a slug of dark rum in it. Somehow I doubt they'd tolerate that here.

Oscar has been puttering away, no farts which is odd but I won't complain too much. He's not got to the solid foods yet.

Bet you can,t wait until he gets his head round that great sounding cheese burger, I rem fasting in hospital and the porter arrived round with the breakfast menu for the following morning. he said I was on the list and it had been pre ordered for me. WOW I hardly slept with excitement, he arrived round I was sitting up tray on my lap spoon in hand! it turned out to be 50ml of orange juice!! I was gutted (no pun intended) but made it last for nearly an hour and boy it was good.

Oh gods, I'd have been so pissed off. Oscar had a great time with the cheeseburger and other stuff. Got scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hot tea and grape juice on the way. Sometime. Soon. Hopefully.

Low fiber diet at the moment. The surgical residents swung by and said I should be getting out today since I seem all clear and Oscar is outputting well.

I remember my first colonoscopy. Fasted and prepped as required. Had mom bring milk and blueberry cake donuts for after. They did not like what they saw and had me continue fasting so they could have me drink contrast and go for my first cat scan. After that they wanted me to fast longer and do another scan... after that they wanted me to fast more. I lost my mind and just sobbed because I was so hungry and had been told I'd eat after the first scope was done originally. My GI let me eat since I was so upset and he'd had no idea I was at hour 24 of fasting.

While I look like I give meals a pass I am very much an eater. Call me whatever you like, just don't forget to call me to dinner. Likely I've stayed in the weight range I run because of Crohns, never been above 160 most of my family has hit above 200.

Tomorrow husband was hoping to go to Dim Sum. Gonna have to break his heart. I gotta do prep for my scope on Monday.

Maybe next Sunday we can go see the Chinese grandmothers. "You eat! Good for you. You will like!" Rarely are they wrong and even then not horribly wrong.

Good luck with the scope!

Hunger is a funny thing. I would get ravenous when I would fast for scopes but I'd have no problem purposely fasting for many days at a time. Sometimes, our stomach isn't in sync with our brain 😂

Home. Finally.

Discharge Orders: Drink fluids to maintain hydration. Avoid Lettuce.

Apparently the computer system would only accept my Dr discharging me as he had admitted me, but my Dr was out of town...

Yay!

Yeah, and the next time you attempt lettuce - make sure it gets chewed into water molecules 😲
