Im travelling by plane from Canada to the US.

I just switched to coloplast bio cut to fit.  Am i allowed to take rounded scissors on the plane?  if  I can't then if i were to precut them will it expose the adhesive and dry it up?  I noticed tonight when I cut mine the paper backing kind of bubbled.

Also does the 3 (100ml) in carry on apply to ostomy supplies?

TIA to anyone who knows.

Hi Lindsay, I have never liked cutting the wafer/flange in advance, have only done it a few times through need, yes it does dry out even if you wrap them up. The scissors I think should be ok in the hold but not in hand luggage. Liquids not sure.

Hey Lindsay,

I've flown out of Toronto airport many times with rounded-tip ostomy scissors from Coloplast - never an issue and I prefer doing that over pre-cutting my wafers (because my stoma changes size every day!).

The liquid rule still applies for ostomy supplies, but you may get an agent who's willing to be more flexible because they are medical supplies - I NEVER rely on them being nice about it, so I always pack my carry-on according to their 3-1-1 rule.

I have more info about packing supplies in this article: https://www.veganostomy.ca/ostomy-travel/
