Felicity, I was happy to hear you are feeling better. Good to keep an eye on Oscar though.

'Hunkered down in misery; .. I know what you mean. They kind of have their moods.

One thing that might help with salads is to pre chop a lot of the greens ( or everything). Makes chewing a bit easier.  Spinach might not have the visual appeal that way, but it helps to tame its  flat leafy ways.   I also chop it, nuke it ( not so funny these days) and add it to soups.

Good luck and be well.

yep that's a good point on the chopping, my wife makes a hearty vegetable soup and I always had trouble with the pearl barley in it until she started to blitz it. may not look as appealing but still full of goodness and flavor

Hi John. YES! and an immersion blender is also a really good investment. You can blitz the soup without taking it from the pan. MUCH safer. Its true you can eat almost anything if its in a small enough form.

I also love Greek yogurt, lots of protein and so smooth!  I have given up on unpeeled apples, peaches etc. There is a lot to eat, its just kind of a learning process. And basically I couldn't eat anything while I had ulcerative colitis, so its all better.

And, Felicity, I feel your pain. I read somewhere that iceberg lettuce is about as nutritious as a glass of water. So much suffering, so little benefit. HA.

Two things I love are sweetcorn and sprouts and I have always had problems no matter what I do with them, any one got any advice/tips on what they do.

Corn is always going to be a challenge. Unless it's creamed corn, you have to chew and chew and chew. Don't expect the skins to break down into nothing, but it can still be enjoyed.

I don't find sprouts to be an issue, but it's also a matter of quantity.

Went for an xray to see where the block is, got a glimpse as I went by. Saw my urinary stent, pretty neat.

They believe I might be a bit dehydrated which can add into the issue.

Good news on appliance front, she asked why I was using such a huge appliance (2 3/4). Gave me a sample flange 1 1/2 inch and a high output bag. Very happy with the downsize and the high output bag since I have to do bowel prep for a scope on Monday. Will be amending my supply order for next batch.

well you can say one good thing has come out of this, in my early days my appliance looked like a set of bagpipes, looking back I should of had a tartan pouch cover

That's pretty cool that some good came from this with the new appliance. Good luck with that.

Oscar and I are so nice they want to keep us overnight so they can watch us.

I keep stressing that the volume out is not Oscars usual amount. X-ray was inconclusive. They'll be hooking me up to an IV. Even when fasting from foods Oscar is a champion spitter.

Oh gods... Corn, moms creamed corn with pepper... I've not had that in over 20 years. Ate corn on the cob earlier this year pre-Oscar. It was a weekend of enemas and regret as it had stoppered my poor abused large bowel up. Tasted so good going in, slathered in butter and salted.

Apparently I got lost in the shuffle. Been waiting to be admitted from a same day surgery room. Somehow word had not been passed to the Nurse. She was surprised to see me waiting patiently for admission. Maybe they'll get their shit straight so I can get mine straightened out.

Not a difference at all. At least the person that registered me this morning did not act like the GI surgeons nurse and I had had a good piss in her Wheaties. The one yesterday was a sour puss.

Oh the joy of being a misplaced patient. Might be getting moved soon though. I'll be glad to maybe get some food eventually...

Argh, Felicity! I'm sorry that you're being shuffled around! I hope someone is able to get you settled soon.
