Well, we have been socked in by snow in SW Ontario in the last week, but the last 2 days have been above zero.  Today, we hit 7C with rain. So, I rescued the BBQ, which had been encased in ice, and moved it into the garage. We have a flock of wild turkeys that we see out our living room window every day, even though we’re in the city; today they were looking a bit wet and bedraggled. Tomorrow, more snow on the way. It’s a toss up whether we’ll have a white or green Christmas, but I think there will still be mounds of snow along the roadsides and parking lots even if it stays warm.

All the best to everyone over the holiday season.☃️

21 degrees outside and snow. It's the slushy type snow and cold, damp and just yuk out there.

I'm currently just in my warm apartment in bed anyhow at the moment but taking the garbage out has been challenging.

Rain, wind, snow, mid temperature dropping to dangerously cold, and grey. 😣

Give me any of the above, as long as the sun is out. That makes all the difference in the world!

The cold i am feeling this morning is so deeply cold and going right into my bones.  It's a cold that feels like your in a deep freezer. Ohio great lakes cold. Hard to explain but whenever people come in winter who have never been here before, they all say im never coming back.

I came here at age 17 and do not kniw why im stay here.  It's too late now to leave. I'm n old and retired and no way to leave. I just have to suck this up.

@chelly The cold really affects my joints. Like everything just locks up more than they usually do, which means more pain whenever the temperatures drop.

This will be an up and down week for temperature and conditions, but we are apparently going to get pummelled on the weekend with over 30 cm of snow. 😯

@veganostomy I've noticed the temperature fluctuations and humidity etc has been making my joints hurt as well. I guess with getting older and we all have some arthritis. Right now it's really warm out in the upper 40's.  I'm trying to secure a ride up the store before this storm comes through this weekend. I guess if I cant get a ride I will just have to be very careful and walk with the wagon. I don't like doing that right now with this fresh incision but I may have to.

40 degrees right now but going to go down to 20 degrees within 2 hours from now.  Also expecting 20 foot waves on lake Erie. Crazy weather.

What a crazy last few days! We went from -15c and then a massive dumping of snow (something like 20+ cm, easily), to a crazy amount of rain last night... now 80 km/h winds. Oh, boy! 🤣

I hope everyone is having a nice winter holiday!

Cold, snow and at times rain. Very high winds, huge waves on the lake and power outages.

The weather has been a roller coaster ride the past few days. Two days ago, we got up to 12C. Then, an ice storm coated everything - beautiful but dangerous. Lots of tree branches down on power lines, so power outages off and on. Today, the high will be -6. Knee deep snow in our driveway, with lots more on the way. No newspaper delivery today. We were supposed to spend New Year’s Eve with friends up at the cottage on Lake Huron, but not now - there’s a good chance the highway will be closed. So, I will haul out the raclette instead, and we will make the most of it. Happy New Year to everyone; good riddance to crazy 2025!

and power outages

Ouch. Despite all the weather we've had, including those high winds, our power has been stable, fortunately enough.

@tigerlily That's brutal. With our summer being choked out due to wildfire smoke, and winter having a complete temper tantrum, we can only hope that things will be better next year 😮

The wearher is horribly cold right now with below zero wind chills. The snow is really coming down today and the future forecast does not look any better.

Living in northeast Ohio in the winter is like stepping into a deep freezer and the cold goes right through your bones. Im.not looking forward to taking my garbage out later.

Beautiful sunny sky and the wind has died down. Still cold but not bone chilling. They plowed and shoveled our walkways and drive so taking garbage out was easy.

Very cold these past several days. -18C the other night.

But next week... I see temps ranging from +1 to +5, so we should have a bit of a melt.

So it was 40 degrees out today but add the windchill and so that made it 20 degrees. I did see that the sun was melting the snow today though.  Supposed to be in the 50' s tomorrow which will be great. I will open up the windows and get some fresh air in this building.
