Evening All,

Being an Ostomate is some thing I am very proud of, I have been since day one, yes I have been down about it and then some but" yep proud." When I joined the Forums on VO I think I was number 318, the membership is now 342. its given us the chance to seek help, air our troubles share experiences and have a bit of craic! (fun) When we walk down the street how many people do we meet suffer with UC/Crohns or have had a Stoma. May be they are looking for help and support and don,t know where to find it. If we some way of identifying a fellow ostmate or a sufferer  a small pin, brooch, badge. We could be helping or pointing that person in the right direction. its something not all would be comfortable with and has may be other issues as well but I would be proud to wear that badge.

Whenever I'm in a space where I'm around many people, I always wonder how many are ostomates or have IBD. I mean, chances are that a few people out of 100 are in the same boat.

I love awareness t-shirts, although they aren't always appropriate all the time 😂

I used to tell people I am Postcolonial.

Some got it, some did not.

( I had UC and had a subtotal colectomy &  an ileostomy installed in July of 2115.  And ... least I forget... major hernia repair May 2017).

I am not sure how to ad that info  to my  'signature block' here .

A Rose would be a good one. Sometimes Oscar looks like a bloomed rose, sometimes like a rose bud. Other ostomies I've seen look similar to me.

Eventually I'm planning a tattoo... A roll of tp scrolling out with No Colon, Still Rollin around it.

YES!  Thanks, it worked ( that WAS my third try). I am not very computer literate.

Just a suggestion for the rest of our tribe here, it would be nice to have more pictures or personal avatars posted. I think Eric's guide ( referenced above) is very helpful.

I am getting confused with all the pastel 'funny' faces. It would be nice to put an actual face ( human animal or otherwise... like Bago's bucket) to a name. Thanks.

I am sure your skin isn't that blue or your face so round! Even a photo of your cat (?) would be great.

My husband is the tech savey one . He is a retired University professor. He was amazing helping me though my illness and took his laptop to each and every doctors visit. Paid attention, read articles, took great notes, asked tons of questions. As we all know these illness require a very steep learning curve. I could not do those things for myself as I was so sick. I would have literally died without him.
