John, Amen on that!! I also see no hand washing..  When I was in (hospital)the last time come this Christmas, I wanted to use their clorox tissues that come in a container- (which is in the hall by my door) for my door knobs and the bar in the bathroom.. They said "NO" I got it anyways.. THE cleaning lady used the same cloth she used from the other room .. I just had to report that!! I am a doorknob person. :-{} Another time, my roommate lost it all over the bathroom and the floor and the curtain between us-no one cleaned it up- so they made me go down the hall to use the visitors bathroom.  That got reported real fast!! At 3 a.m. the cleaning began and replaced the curtain. Nurses didn't even "notice this" ???? ya, they knew-just waiting for the next shift.............. Took hours to get someone in there!!!!!! And lets face it, I made many trips past them--- After that mess, I perfered the visitors bath tho-- :-)

What is with these people???? Felicity, bring in your own stuff!!! I will..........

Thankfully being a frequent flyer there I've got to observe their staff. Cleaning lady was in every morning at about 6, she was like clockwork. I ordered breakfast by her she was so regular. I'm pretty happy with their cleaning. The staff was good at washing their hands when they entered and left the room. My only gripe was getting my meal trays regularly. I suspect that had to do with my isolation more than anything else.

The staff at Holy Cow was really good about hand washing, hand sanitizer and doing the gown and gloves thing. They were also really good about following proper procedure for dispensing oral and injectable drugs

I agree with you guys on the Germs in hospitals first time I was in one I went to walk around with no socks and the nurse chewed me out . She said the hospital is full of germs always wear the socks ! 3 times I had C-Diff each time I hadn't been in the hospital or on antibiotics so who knows how I got it . But like they say once you have had it you are more susceptible to getting it again .

We used to have a saying on the job . No Brains No Headaches ! When it comes to public bathrooms I almost hate to touch anything anymore especially to flush the toilet I  always grab a piece of tissue first .

Wot about ye Robert, I have used my foot to move the loo seat and even my foot to flush. A few weeks back needed to go! and called into a service station. Oh my goodness! only and I mean only I really needed I should have walked out. you and me have worked on building sites and seen so called rough lads but this was a disgrace. It was not the fault of the owners but who ever was the last user!

Anyone think of your tooth bush???? As we are in that area on a regular basis washing our hands after______________, DO NOT leave your tooth brush near that sink!! I have a special container for mine and it is put directly into a drawer --------- remember to bleach out this container weekly or more.. Getting any dirty residue from our hands or a splash-on tooth brush causes many infections INTO our bodies.. So easily!!!!!!!

We work so hard to keep c-diff and other infections from us-at hospitals, nursing homes, visitors, offices, and then others don't wash their hands and that within itself, is a wash out for us that work so hard-just takes just ONE person to get something started. Sad.........
