Felicity, dehydration is nothing to fool with!! TRUST ME!! I am a wall flower 3x/wk- (connected to a wall)- It can wipe you out so fast and the come back is hard. no wonder Oscar is so pruned up-

Well, I guess your a wall flower also now.. When they detatch you from that, and no more rolling that pump (I call mine at infusion "hope" ) around, the freedom has arrived--then u can work on better movements.. Still interested on sitting on the floor at the lounge??? I think the purple chair is best for you for awhile.. Then the floor is open to you always.. :-)

Another day another big step..   ditch the fish flops for now o.k.??

Got to go home, staying with Mom and Dad for a bit so I'm not alone during the daytime hours. Lounging on the sofa in my welcome home pajamas (Christmas Cats) drinking on some water. Had biscuit and sausage for breakfast. Eyeballing the peppermint Twinkie (3 or so inches of cream filled sponge cake) pondering if I want it or should wait.

Got a roller walker if I need it and to haul stuff around. It's a house of canes around here. Mainly using it to help myself up. The Boston Bulls have been good, no bouncing on the midline incision. Washed me feet for me this morning as they were the only things uncovered on me.

Just got a call from the visiting nurse, she'll be in around 1 to check my incisions.

James helped me change my bag the night before so I'll hopefully be good until next Tuesday at least.

Good to hear your home-well half way there.. but your out on your own.. All staples out?

James must be happy that this step has come forward. He helps u with the changing of the guards huh? Lucky!! That would never happen on this end.. Mom and Dad all excited to be of some help I am sure.. Sometimes, people don't know how to help with an ostomate.. I am sure that you will be well waited on... Hope the healing process goes fast now.. I loved my walker, It took me everywhere. helped me out of bed, on an off the toliet -that was my buddy on that note for many months.. But mine has no wheels..

Now u can sleep for as long as u want without the early mornings Dr. asking the same questions and cant give NO answers as they are still in training.. hated that..  Best, Marcie.

Staples are out and the midline looks so nice compared to the old one. Still have the sutures in my mind end... Poor little butt hedghog.

Nice to sleep through the night, parents cruised by a few times to check me, cover me. No vitals needed taking, no baby docs bugging me at early hours and wandering why I slept all day...

Sissy stopped in and is keeping me a bit of company.

Good Morning Felicity . Glad you got out of there . Now you can actually rest no body coming in in the night poking you or taking vitals . I don't think you could get better care overall than Mom n Dad although James is probably a better with the changing . Sounds like you are eating good ah hell go for the twinkie why not . Use the walker or cane anything so as not to strain your belly . Sounds like you are doing good . Take it slow n easy .

Wow I'm glad to hear you're doing so good. Even though it's not all the way home it's still another form of home and it's not a hospital and there's no guys in white coats or nurses in uniforms or people with needles to poke you. Big Improvement that Twinkie is.  Nothing is going to hurt. How much weight did you lose while you were laying around there in the hospital not eating anything. So you deserve a treat today. Just glad you are doing good hang in there

Severe rheumatoid arthritis, spondoloarthropy, polymyalgia rhumatica, type 1 diabetic, IBS and finally, emergency diverticulitis surgery, colon removed Stella born Jan. 27, 2017. 6 bouts of c-diff, failed fecal transplant. Complete colonectomy and ileostomy July 30, 2018. ENOUGH!!

As soon as I feel comfortable back to my house. Still a little wobble here and there, it's good to have company too. I don't have steps here so I can easily zip to wherever I need to go. Never got too stroppy as a teen, had a good relationship w my parents. I was the easy kid, even as a teen. Kind of quiet, more prone to reading than blasting music.

Home health checked me out, said front and back look good and I  am not in need of assistance. Discharged from that. Next week I believe is a follow up with Dr B the surgeon. Then 3 - 4 weeks before back to work w no restrictions.

My Home Caregivers are enjoying having me here. The Boston Babes love company and have been on their best behaviour. Ms Sophie Tucker and Princess Fiona are pretty cheap to employ too, a corn puff gets a foot bath in return.

Mom and I spend a good bit of time talking about our pets past and present, family stories, watching TV and laughing at the idiocy. Pap and I talk about music, his job as a Hospice Nurse, fixing things...

The girls have been good company, staying off me but close. Very sweet dogs.

This morning I woke up, took my pain med and antibiotic then proceeded to foam and fizz. Throw up but not really, hiccups. Thankfully it only lasted a half hour. Got some water down and kept it down.

Fish flops are here, just not need to wear em since no unknowns on the floor and no plans to step outside.

Next Friday I see Dr B, that Saturday James and I will have a day date. If I feel froggy and he feels ok I might head back home.

Been watching snow coming down in the back yard as I hang out watching TV.  Slowly slowly it's coming down.

Thankfullythe heater is installed at the house. The family room is warmer than it usually is! Yay! Our home is a post WWII 2 bedroom that had a 3 car garage built on in the late 60s then the garage was turned into a giant family room in the 70s. Usually freezing this time of year.

Sister in Law stopped in, had a deal on a weekend flight from Chicago. Was great to see her and so nice she wanted to come and see me w her own eyes. I lucked out with my in-laws being so wonderful.

Got a foot massage w peppermint lotion, watching Christmas shows, getting ready to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" in a bit.

Welp, that was fun...

Sprang a little leak from my midline incision. Not purulent/ infected but what they call something like serous drainage: clear, thin, slightly red tinged, no nasty smell, no inflammation. Poor James was a little freaked to see it. I remember something similar, actually more voluminous and infected, following my first surgery. Promised I'd get dad to eye it when he got home in the morning
