Forgive me for being punny, but the end is in sight. Enjoy your recuperation . 3 weeks? Keep in touch ! Morning Felicity, hows the form. ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns He was eying 4 weeks back at light duty. I insisted to "healed" no restrictions at least 6 weeks. Here I am, still in a week from admission. I was drying off from my antibacterial soap shower this time last week. I am admittedly not eating much except a light meal every day. Dehydrated as usual, wbc up a little. Damn Dr (surgeons partner) tweaked my poor ass this morning when checking the incision, oh did that hurt. Said I should sit more... Sure Dr, let's mince your starfish and see how you like sitting on it... Should be getting a chest x-ray sometime today. I suspect I'll be hanging out some more here. I rather hopefully sent my basket of coloring books, comics and goodies home w husband. Figured he could manage them easier than mom could. Maybe I can still make a break... Crohn's Colitis, Ilieostomy, Proctocolectomy November 2017 Well its been a heck off a week for ye, not may be what you want to hear but as long as the hospitail wany you stay, the very to ye kid ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns Good Morning Felicity Wow I am sorry you are still in there I thought you were getting out yesterday . That does suck that you have to stay still but (no pun intended) if Doc thinks you should stay then it probably is best . Hopefully you get out soon cause we all know to well that hospitals are no fun . Eat as you feel you can get rehydrated as you can maybe it will help you get out or at least you'll feel better when you make a break for it ! Proctectomy , Ileostomy , Ulcerative Colitis Felicity sorry to hear that they're making you stay in the hospital. But as other people have said to hear it's usually ends up being for the best if you stay when the doctors want you to. A couple of times when I was in at the beginning of the year I forced my way out of the hospital sooner than the doc's wanted me to and I even came home rather than going to rehab. Big big mistake it set me back a long way and just took longer to get over. I finally figured out that that they knew what they were talking about when they said stay and rest and get better and then move on. I know it's hard I know how bad I hate to sit in the hospital too but you know sometimes it's the best thing to do. Hang in there we're all praying for you and hoping for the best you'll be out quicker than you can imagine. All my love Barbara Severe rheumatoid arthritis, spondoloarthropy, polymyalgia rhumatica, type 1 diabetic, IBS and finally, emergency diverticulitis surgery, colon removed Stella born Jan. 27, 2017. 6 bouts of c-diff, failed fecal transplant. Something to look forward to. I agree with all of the above. Get well and get going. It might help you to plan to accomplish something when you are released. Something to look forward to. It's that left kidney that was part of the start of the mess. Urinary stent placement to be done in am. Little infection too. Crohn's Colitis, Ilieostomy, Proctocolectomy November 2017 Like you really needed that too !! There is no such thing as a little infection with the kidneys.. Trust me! Keep your chin up.. m. 2014 - 3 strangulations of colon, Ulcerative colitis, removal of colon, illiostomcy named woooh Nellie.. Felicity I understand having an infection but why the stent ? When I had my Proctectomy surgery they found that my rectum had  grown around a second ureter on one side that they weren't aware of and it got broke during removal of the rectum . So just saying I had a stent for 6 weeks after going home and wasn't as bad as I thought it might be . But then had to go back for out patient surgery to get it removed and they put another one in when they took that one out it was in the office I watched it on camera . Believe me I was nervous ! But proved to be no big deal . I was surprised when I saw the stent though . Just saying don't be worried about it tell them to give you some Uribel your pee will turn blue but it takes care of the stinging . Good luck tomorrow . You will do great . Proctectomy , Ileostomy , Ulcerative Colitis  The kidney started this adventure off months ago. Appropriate it will end this adventure. Poor Oscar is all chunked up, shapes odd, more oval than before... Flabby. He'll trim down some. Stent placement went well, felt good enough to choke a bad hamburger half down for lunch. Kidney is draining, they hooked an iv up the other night as I complained I was unable to maintain hydration due to NPO. Careful what you wish for. Getting up to pee every few hours clutching my belly close to hold all that jumble in. Poor James so wants to help when he watches. Told him I'm gonna be happier slower. Hospital Dr stopped to check on me. Told me to be doing what I do at home. Welp, lately on a day off I might get out of bed by 9. Ramble to the bathroom then lounge on sofa. As it is winter that is usually my end point unless I wind up in the computer room... I ain't doing much less than I do at home. Bed time is usually 9...
