I guess we are not supposed to eat a lot of sweets but what are some of the Xmas treats that you all enjoy . One of my favorite is peanut butter Hershey kiss cookies . And yes of course Marcie Pop Corns Balls ! :-) but I do try to stay away from pop corn now . This past weekend my wife made fudge , rice crispy treats n Biscotti's and friendship bread . More to follow next weekend .

For me its Sherry Trifle, an Auntie of mine used to make it and she didn,t drink so she had no concept of how much she was putting in.. !! no one since can make it quite the same. another treat we only buy at Christmas is Ginger Cordial. And my Dad had to have Cranberry sauce with his dinner, but for me its like putting jam on yer plate.

I'm not so much into treats, but I do love the availability of certain fruits this time of the year: clementines, persimmons, kiwi, etc. :)

Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate.

Ginger Cordial like you add to water? That sounds tasty to me.

Gingerbread loaf, peanut butter fudge, white fantasy fudge w candied fruits, pizzelle, pfefferneusse, peppermint pretzels. Just bought 5 lbs of peppermint jelly beard :)

Also lots of different cheese.

Felicity I'm not sure what a couple of those are like the pizzelle and the pfefferneusse ? Eric those are treats to you and that's what matters we all have ones we like .

John maybe you should take over making the Sherry Trifle just close your eyes and add the Sherry then you won't have any idea how much you are putting in either ! Haha . I am like you Dad I like the cranberry sauce too . I know people who a turkey n cranberry sauce sandwhich that I don't do ! Lol .

Marcie that is the impression I was under was that we should watch our sugar . Although I'm not very good at doing that . Maybe some fudge and sweets would help you with the weight .... And Marcie be patient I am talking to Santa for ya n the trip to Arizona but I think you might be right about Santa being a woman . I was told Santa was shopping and couldn't be reached !!! :-) :-)

Shhhhhhhsh, don't tell my endocrinologist,  but sometimes at this time of year I just have to cheat a bit. Being type 1 diabetic, I slip in the occasional piece of almond Rica or a bit of fudge,  then offset it with a couple of extra units of humalog insulin.  Like I said, shhhhsh, don't tell not a good thing to do, and it takes another injection, but then I give pain free injections!! Ha!!

Hey John

Oh yes glazed gravy rings are one of my favorite !!! I never had egg nog either till few years ago now we are sure to get it every year . There is a place couple hours from here called Broguiere's  that makes it and ships  it out only for Xmas . Stores actually run out comes in a glass bottle like old times . Good just as it is don't even have to kick it up !
