You may have noticed that I haven't been online very much haven't made many postings. And the reason for that is it finally came down to the fact that I needed to make a trip to the hospital today. Right now I'm sitting in the emergency room trying to find out what they're going to do with me whether they're going to keep me or send me back home. They've done a bunch of tests and as usual they can't find that much. You never can find anything it seems like. I did get dizzy and stuff today and I passed out and fell on the floor before the paramedics came to get me. So right now just waiting to see what happens I've got a lot of pain in my lower left abdomen and in the stump in my backside. I'm waiting to see what they say Severe rheumatoid arthritis, spondoloarthropy, polymyalgia rhumatica, type 1 diabetic, IBS and finally, emergency diverticulitis surgery, colon removed Stella born Jan. 27, 2017. 6 bouts of c-diff, failed fecal transplant. Complete colonectomy and ileostomy July 30, 2018. ENOUGH!! You take care Barbara, keep us posted. ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns Barbara, I am sorry you are back in the hospital. Subtotal colectomy with illiostomy July 2015; Peristomal hernia repair ( Sugarbaker, mesh, laparoscopic) May 2017. Oh no! I hope the fall didn't cause any damage! Hope you feel better soon.  I talked with Barb. She is calmer, and on pain meds. Fever is gone. When she fell, she did not hurt herself. So we don't have to do more worries.. Doing tests.. She will et us all know in a day or so, what is what.. Hope she gets better and able to be at home for the holidays.. But we all know how we feel when we get out of those places after an ostomy issue.. :-( Most of all she is calmer.. That helps a lot.. she sends her love to all............... M. 2014 - 3 strangulations of colon, Ulcerative colitis, removal of colon, illiostomcy named woooh Nellie.. Hi Barbara, just saying WOT ABOU YE Mucker, hope all,s well and gives us a shout when ye feelin up to it  ;-) ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns I have sent a message to our Kayroo(?) -Ann- I have invited her to the lounge. I am sure that she is a busy bee with her extended family with Christmas only a week away.. As the rest of us!!! Hopefully, she is having the good weather as we do here in Ct. usa... It is 40 degrees out! Sooooooo nice!! What a change for us over here!! I can smell spring (?). Sure makes the last minute shopping more comfortable.. Now to find the parking spaces huh? That in it self is a job!!! Haven't heard from Barbara--But knowing her, she will not keep us on edge too long.. She is in good hands and resting so that makes me feel better than what she was dealing with at home. Robert, I have finished painting the men's lounge-bath.. Hope you guys love it!! Home and Gardens gave it thumbs up!!!!!!! :-) 2014 - 3 strangulations of colon, Ulcerative colitis, removal of colon, illiostomcy named woooh Nellie.. Well I'm still sitting here on my backside in the hospital. It turns out that I am super dehydrated, sounds a lot like Marcie I think, and so far they have pumped me full of fluids. So far it has been something in the neighborhood of six of the large bags of fluid. Also said that it looks like I've got a blockage and so Stella has not been functioning very well. Haven't passed anything through since last Friday morning and so they're trying to figure out what's going on I've had several scans and they're going to do a scope later on this afternoon. Soon as they find out what's blocking things and get it moving again they said I could go home. This is the first blockage that I've had so I'm on unfamiliar ground. I hope it doesn't take too much longer to get fixed. And then when I get home I've been told that I've got to work harder at staying hydrated i appear to be dehydrated every time I turn around. They are threatened me with visits to Marcie Club Med if I don't get things turned around and get myself more hydrated all the time. Anyway there was no damage from falling down and hitting my head and they think that was just related to being as dehydrated as I was and I got dizzy and went head over teakettle. Severe rheumatoid arthritis, spondoloarthropy, polymyalgia rhumatica, type 1 diabetic, IBS and finally, emergency diverticulitis surgery, colon removed Stella born Jan. 27, 2017. 6 bouts of c-diff, failed fecal transplant. Complete colonectomy and ileostomy July 30, 2018. ENOUGH!! Hey Barb!! Don't want to welcome you to the "club Med" yet.. Dehydration is not a fun thing to deal with!! I cannot absorb anything.. But it is easy to become dehydrated and it is an awful feeing.. You cant breath, talk, dizzy, I even get seisures.(sp) Talk about holding onto dear life in a door way!! As of this, When u get up off anything, sit there for a bit and let your blood pressure adjust. Makes your body adjust.. This is a lifer excerzize for me.. OR I go into the shakes..and blackness.... No control... Keep drinking even if it is a beer on your good days.. :-) Eat salted foods, the best u can.. Eric has a hydrated drink on the blog for dehydration.. Remember -- when your thirsty your dehydrating.. Hear your body-- We all cant take it for granted anymore.. Nip it in the bud type of thing.. Best. M. 2014 - 3 strangulations of colon, Ulcerative colitis, removal of colon, illiostomcy named woooh Nellie.. Thanks for and the good advice. I know how easy it is to get dehydrated as it seems to be a continuing problem with me too every time I show up in here I'm really badly dehydrated. Does it seem that I can keep any kind of liquids in my body at all. I've been listening to the things you say about being dehydrated and I'm thanks that it sounds awfully familiar to me. I just can't keep fluids in me and I am always low on sodium potassium and magnesium Severe rheumatoid arthritis, spondoloarthropy, polymyalgia rhumatica, type 1 diabetic, IBS and finally, emergency diverticulitis surgery, colon removed Stella born Jan. 27, 2017. 6 bouts of c-diff, failed fecal transplant. Complete colonectomy and ileostomy July 30, 2018. ENOUGH!! Eat the fruits, banana, salads.. etc..... THe Mag. goes with the dehydration. I get 2 bags per week also of that.. Mag. is important!! 1.7 is the normal.. Every week I am 1.5 or 1.6 -1.4 I am in the ambulance from Club Med!! I really want to make a break out of club med, but he Mag is a problem.. After I see the diet Dr. I will try for 2 x week-- she can help manage me with this.. I can only hope.. If you were severly dehydrated like me, you would never be able to do the things that you have been dong.. Trust me!!!!!! I am so not able to do those things.. now!! You were vomiting and not eating for a few days, that got you!! As an ostomy we go down fast with dehydration !!!!!! I think that is why u fell.. It is sneaky!! Get well!! 2014 - 3 strangulations of colon, Ulcerative colitis, removal of colon, illiostomcy named woooh Nellie.. Barbara maybe you could try just having a bottle of water around and taking a sip here n there . When I was still working we were always told (Drink Today for Tomorrow) cause once you get dehydrated its hard to get rehydrated I'm sure you know that . Get better n get outa there ! Proctectomy , Ileostomy , Ulcerative Colitis Perfect Robert!! "Drink today for tomorrow"!!!!!!!! This should be put on our quotes.. Do we have one?? I do put some quotes on.. Lounge quotes???? A special one? Eric??????????? This could be a nice place for inner thoughts when some of us are feeling down.. :-( 2014 - 3 strangulations of colon, Ulcerative colitis, removal of colon, illiostomcy named woooh Nellie.. To repeat what I suggested in the summer, drink V8 or equivalent. It is unconsciounable for any of us to allow ourselves to become dehydrated. We are missing the intestines that absorb water. It flows out into our bags and needs to be replaced readily. This is a year round problem. Please take care of your selves. Well put My "Z" IT is a hard road for most of us.. Me? trying very hard.. But if you all can drink at least ONE V-8 juice a day, your on your way!! Hum? I made a rhyme.. We need the salt!! I even take salt pills everyday.. and still at club med.. My private issue.. But trust me everyone, you don't want to go to infusions 3 x/week!! (my club med) Keep control of your fluids!! It can be hard, but remember as we all say, we Ostomates are strong and surivors.. well, yes, we are....but don't forget-this is not a gall bladder operation where the body makes it own adjustments.. WE HAVE TO !!! We are in charge!! Ilostomy's have it worse.. We have to suck it up in more ways than one.. There is no easy fix for any of us here on this blog.. Some say -8 is expensive? Seen your hospital bill after a bolt of dehydration? The time out of your life trying to get back on your feet again? Time wasted!! Been there, doing it now.. 10% of us (like me) are in trouble of dehydration.. Sure didn't ask for it.. Just happened.. Thank your lucky stars your not me.. On a weekly basis.. But you all have been there and it is a sneaky destroyer if all your organs.. It is a worthy fight that you can control at your best.. But it happens.. "Z" says drink your V-8? Do it!!!!!!! Work for the best that you can.. Special diet of other issues? water it down....... Your Dr, of special needs can help you through.. Anytime we get sick = dehydration - faster than what we were before...... 2014 - 3 strangulations of colon, Ulcerative colitis, removal of colon, illiostomcy named woooh Nellie.. I drink a minimum (usually more) of a half gallon of water a day. Then there is juice etc. Have had 3 bouts of kidney stones. The half gallon is doctors orders Severe rheumatoid arthritis, spondoloarthropy, polymyalgia rhumatica, type 1 diabetic, IBS and finally, emergency diverticulitis surgery, colon removed Stella born Jan. 27, 2017. 6 bouts of c-diff, failed fecal transplant. Complete colonectomy and ileostomy July 30, 2018. ENOUGH!! Ya, Kidney stones, Awhile ago they said I had some.... Gone now-- :-) Maybe it was a thumb print.. :-{} When r u coming home?  2014 - 3 strangulations of colon, Ulcerative colitis, removal of colon, illiostomcy named woooh Nellie..
