Oh yes you remember the cookies my Mom would do the same get the cookie cutters out different shapes Xmas trees , Santa Clause , stars , angels different things . Us 4 kids would always sit down and frost literally couple hundred just sugar cookies not to mention all the other things she would make . She would always pass out plates to friends and neighbors . Oh I forgot she would also use the divinity to make these peanut caramel logs . You are right the memories are coming back . Wow my Dad would get out the 8mm movie camera and take movies too . Unfortunately I don't have those but I do have some small real to real tapes that my Dad had made and I put hose on a CD great memories of him and hearing him talking . We always get a box of assorted chocolates and a couple boxes of chocolate covered cherries.  They seem to be the required candies at Christmas every year.  We don't really need them -- it's just that they have become a tradition.  Kind of like cut-out cookies.  We aren't doing a tree this year again.  We have cats and I'd rather not have them trying to climb it, so the nice big artificial tree will stay put away in the closet another year.

Christmas is always pretty quiet around here.  We don't really make a big deal out of it.  We do like to go to church Christmas Eve - we hold lit candles and sing Christmas carols, and someone always reads the Christmas story out of the Bible.  I really like it!!!

The older we get, the more we get into the spiritual celebration of Christmas.  All the presents and big dinner aren't really an important part of our Christmas.
