Which suture kit do I need? Do I suture the end of the stoma and loop the thread around the catheter? I would appreciate any advice. I think that type of advice is beyond the scope of this forum, although, I'm surprised that you were not given any guidance. When a foley catheter was used to relieve my blockage (by a doctor in the hospital), no sutures were needed, and I'm not even sure why they would be if the catheter is being used to relieve a semi-blockage. Do you have a stoma nurse at the hospital you were discharged from that you can seek some instructions from? That might be the safest bet. However, in the past, the doctor usually sutured in the foley when I was in the hospital. @wnorm I'm glad that got sorted out!
