How long does it take to heal an ulcer?  Was dx 2 weeks ago with a parastomal ulcer and wonder what others experience was.

Hi Raine,

I guess it would depend on what's causing the ulcer. If it's because of something like Crohn's Disease, it may not heal very quickly compared to something like a pressure ulcer.

What kind of treatment (if any) are you receiving for the ulcer?

I saw the nurse yesterday and she is happy at my progress.  I was using silver alginate and now switched to prisma.  Being so new to all of this, i was freaking out that it wasn't healing properly.

Yay! I hope things continue to get better for you!

I know how much anxiety the uncertainly can cause, but I hope you found some relief in knowing that things are going well.
