Its not that hard nowadays Laurie , it used to be all command line based and the command line is still important but its fun to learn and being honest it keeps your mind active , If you have an old laptop ,it's the perfect place to learn because if you mess up you can just reinstall from scratch , obviously on a test laptop(or desktop) you don't keep anything important . I’m envious of how knowledgeable you both are about using Linux - which I know nothing about. Linux today is so different from Linux 20 years ago, where you'd need to use the command prompt quite often (like back in the DOS days for those who remember that far!). But modern Linux is very much a graphical experience on the desktop, and in my opinion, much easier than Windows! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Well, we were blessed with 3 days of Rain & after a downpour yesterday a.m. the clouds cleared & the sun came out drying the grass and sidewalk in a very welcome manner. About an hour later the 3 human ladies, the child included, took the two fur balls for a walk. It was so enjoyable to be out and seeing all the leaves in various shades of reds, greens & even pinks peeking out in a more bold manner then a week ago. I love watching the new life spring brings with it, flourish in new ways every year!! My flower garden is bursting with fresh promising to be long leafed varigated greens and my peonies are even showing their stems with tight curled leaves. Yay Spring! I'm not sure how much I'll get done in the back garden this year with my right hand out of commission but I'm going to try anyways. Maybe Gwen can show me some more fancy five finger hole digging to plant our now 5 varieties of peas, last year we did 3! She wants to try to grow the kind you eat shell & all and she so enjoyed her little 4 tower strawberry garden last year that she wants to add more plants this year. I LOVE her enthusiasm!! Does anyone else sleep with your bedroom windows open?? The air was so fresh last night and about 4 a.m. some rambunctious Quail had a competition & must have thought they were 🐓 Roosters and oh, my... the Noise!! They were talking loudly back and fourth for a good hour, then the Robins & Finches & Mourning Doves joined in and a few flocks of Canada Geese flying overhead added to the choir! I must admit that my love for birds gave way & laying in bed I started trying to ID the different calls. I always put clean bundles of dog hair bundles tied to the front fence so we can watch the birds take it for nesting materials, so, I think maybe its getting time to do this again. I hope you are all as healthy as you can be & enjoying this Easter long weekend. Maybe your doung so tard work or even in the garden getting it a bit ready for planting. I hope you all Have a Happy and Safe Easter weekend everybody! 8:36 a.m. and the dogs are amazingly still sleeping! Yahooooo! Linda Wow! My hubby would totally have come into the conversation on Music! He loved it ALL so much & would have loved to go to far more concerts then we/ he did. With little kiddos there were concerts he just "needed" to go to and with little children and a poor budget to live on, he often rang a friend and the two would leave us ladies home with the little kids so the men could go loose hearing for a few hours! My man left me with a box of vinyl records & a CD collection I still need to go thru. I actually purchased a record player 2 yrs back so I could listen to them and play them for the Grands. I enjoyed the less noisey concerts but one that stands out was seeing Kenny Roger's at the Vancouver P.N.E. they have a wooden roller coaster there Eric! One summer evening in the early 80's, It was a long day of fun closed with the music we all enjoyed. Two of my sisters & their later to be hubbies even joined us for the day. I enjoy a wide variety of music as well and I'm not sure I could choose one record/CD to come along on an island... there'd likely be no electricity anyways... 😒 😕 🙄 😐 😑 🙃.... 🤣 😂 🤣 ... sorry.... Eric are you in a Band? If any of you visit Instagram, there's a gentleman named @patrickjabdo ! Wow, he teaches drums to people of all ages and posts what they learn. Its pretty fun to watch him all intent on teaching never loosing focus and then when his students finish well, his reactions are pretty fun to see. There's one young lady I particularly enjoy watching as she she's grown up learning the drums. My Mom dated a drummer of a local band before my Dad won her hand for a dance that his brother's bet him a case of bear on, saying she'd for sure turn him down... lol! End of that story, they were married a year later! Linda Temperatures are up and down here; high of 12C today, but 21 yesterday and sunny. Finally got a lot of garden work done yesterday. But not today - resting my sore muscles!🤕 Happy Easter weekend for those who celebrate, and happy long weekend for those who don’t! Laurie Just a semicolon @dlkfiretruck i too like to sleep with the windows open and we get a train a few times a night. But I like the noise. It's kind of like white noise.Keeps me sleeping. I really had to laugh when you said those birds were outside, fighting and woke you up. I get the bird chirping at 3 and 4 in the morning. I don't know how they get up so early because I hear them at six o'clock at night.Chirping and then at three in the morning they're chirping again. But that's okay, that's same thing.White noise. Your gardening sounds like fun. Does anyone else sleep with your bedroom windows open?? I try to keep windows open as much as possible. I might have mentioned this before, but we have an indoor air quality device that measures carbon dioxide, and it makes a huge difference to have even just one window open. Eric are you in a Band? I was as a teen, but these days I only play for fun, and when my joints allow. Temperatures are up and down here; high of 12C today, but 21 yesterday and sunny. We broke an old temperature record for our city on Friday: 23.6C! But the wind was atrocious, so my bike ride was extra difficult. It was nice seeing so many people out. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. @veganostomy oh my gosh Snow???? Yup. Enough to accumulate, but no enough to have to shovel. I think that's the end of it! 🤞 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. @veganostomy Let’s hope it’s the last of it! Yes, woke up yesterday to snow on the ground; nearly went back to bed and pulled the covers over my head. 😩 Better today. All the snow is gone. Sunny, but only a high of 9C and a bitter wind. Laurie Just a semicolon
