Back from sunny Portugal, nice break but had only a short stay as a friend of ours died , The funny thing is that the heat really helped with the aches and pains , the heat over there is a drier heat and really seems to help , Back home its a lot colder 14C , and colder at night , Autumn is here ,hope everyone is doing OK, even a little better . https://photos.app.goo.gl/zwMMZEdzndhrxaD49 @tony-h thank you so much for sharing! Beautiful.photos and then the video with the ocean and the sound of the waves. The bells in the little town .....all of it, just Beautiful!!! Happy for you to see all thst beauty and to get relief from aches and pains., although im.so sorry to hear about your friend. @tony-h Wow, Tony! Stunning place to visit! The funny thing is that the heat really helped with the aches and pains , the heat over there is a drier heat and really seems to help I find that heat helps, too. That's probably why I'm OK with hot summers! Even now, where the temps are in the low teens, I can feel way more pain in my hands and wrists. 😫 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Been feeling like cr@p for the last few days , seems like I have officially joined the covid club ,first time since the outbrake , just about keeping my temp under 38C , but the sore throat and headaches are unreal , hope its the short variety and its gone soon , 16C and dull here Hope you feel better quickly, Tony. I had Covid twice, but it was mild both times, thank goodness (and yes I did have the shot). Felt lousy, and the headache was pretty bad. Have you seen a medical person? Colostomy 4/30/18. @tony-h oh, Tony! Yikes, I haven't even given covid a thought since the start of Summer here in B.C. sometimes I wonder if it's a newer Flu bug but then... Its scarey none the less. I hope you feel better soon and I was glad to read you visited your Doctor. I'll be keeping you both in my prayers! Knock on wood, I have avoided covid so far & its something I don't want either. I've known too many friends and family to die from it so YOU TWO be VERY careful!! Portugal looks so pretty. Having lived in Canadas only desert, the sound of the oceans crashing waves is something I miss a lot. A lake is different, it seems to eventually settle, but an ocean, not so much. My hubs & I had our first date on the shores of the ocean. It will always hold a special place in my heart bcuz of all the times we've spent on the water with my parents/siblings too, and then ofcourse, the night of our first date... and more that followed. The heat is always welcome for the balm it provides to my typical aching body! We've been noticing, the hotter the summers, the fiercer the winters. It seems to work rhat way in the pain department too... anyone else notice this? So, it's been a VERY HOT summer here with the desert temps. and I'm not sure I'm looking forward to winter. With school in session again kids, and all the closed in germs that brings with it... Ugh! Portugal is very beautiful Toby. I could almost imagine you stopping to take the pics! Thank you for posting them & the videos. We have a church not far from us with a bell tower. The bells play a few hymns & I love to hear them playing. The bells often running a goid 30 min. or so, they sound Friday night, Saturday morning but on Sunday morning is when you hear the run of the hymns the most and on special holidays, like Christmas, Easter... I often step outdoors or open a window to hear them better. Its a sound, like the oceans waves casually rolling onto the shores or harsh crashing of the waters onto rocks that make my heart sing right along with an unexpected visit from a certain young lady popping upstairs unexpectedly and calling my name as she comes in my door. Thank you Tony for sharing the pics & videos. I delighted in each and every one of them. I've chosen one I'm going to try my hand at sketching... I hope that's okay? Get well soon Tony & no sharing the germs with your lovely lady or your dog either! Linda Im getting there ,temps are mostly @37C ,but Sheila has it now ,spiked to 39.2C last night but paracetamol/Tylenol and lots of fluids got it down quickly , We were so careful but i think one waitress with a really bad cough was the culprit , we normally run if we hear a cough but this time we didn't and had no masks with us , Can't understand people that are obviously sick been allowed to interact with the public , but thats life and five years was a good run not catching it , was due for my booster shot yesterday . @tony-h oh my goodness! TONY! I'm with you on people working sick, especially with a cough! I'd be tempted to call the restaurant and make the boss aware and put the fear of a " your lucky I don't sue you for negligence " law suit in his blood!! We never ate out once the whole time covid was on & even to a year later, Not even ordering in due to my fear of someone coughing on my food. A covid -19 germ can live up to 3 hours in the air and up to 19 hours on a door handle or stair railing depending on its make of either wood or metal or plastic. Scarey! This is a communicable disease and needs tracing by the public health advisory. It was thru the Interior Health Department that in 1996, they checked up on my cryptosporidium test result diagnoses that I nearly died from and was still a year later left untreated for, until IH got on board. I was never told I was positive from my then so called GP for that, nor did I know what it was. . . those things! Ugh! We lost a total of 11 friends and two close family members 😢 to covid, even after the big threat was over. I beg one person to come to battle with me on whether it was real or not. Stupidity can only go so far. My appologies Eric, I know this is not what your site is about. I'll remove this if you wish or you can. Tony, I'll double up on my prayers for you and shiela in the days to come! Avoid the stores and get a friend to bring in supplies if you can. Be sure & get the rest your bodies need. Honestly, I hadn't given covid a thought over summer until your post. I guess it's time to put masks in my handbags & go bag again & to ask family & friends in my home those uncomfortable , tick them off questions again.... Heal well and keep us in the loop! Linda @tony-h This isn’t fair! You and Sheila have been through enough! I’m so sorry that this is happening. What a way to ruin a vacation. Hoping that you both will feel better soon. Take good care. Laurie Just a semicolon Thanks Linda, Laurie , this new varient is supposedly easier to transmit ,so will be masking up more again even though we should be protected now against that after getting it , Im definitely over the worst ,was hungry for the first time in a few days and temp is steady enough @37C , It just shows the first time we were complacent we got caught , Its still out there and we missed the spring booster for the first time and got hit , anyway thanks for the kind words and support as always . @tony-h That's unfortunate, and it sounds to be the likely source. It was honestly so nice when masking up was generally accepted and expected (by most, anyway). I didn't have so much as even the common cold for years during the pandemic, so it goes to show that these steps to keep people safe was working. For a waitress to be in such a public facing line of work (literally), masks should be worn as a courtesy to the guests. We have a therapist who comes over for my wife, and he's always with a mask. We certainly appreciate it! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Hope Tony and his wife are feeling better. As for weather we are having hot days and cool nights. Loving the cooler nights for sleep. Walked with my wagon to the grocery store today and boy did i really have it packed and overflowing but I got a whole lot of food, water and Gatorade. I will be good for a while. I see rain in the forecast all next week. The wagon was very heavy pulling home but had to do it. It was pretty hot out there. I'm glad that im so much closer to a store now since moving into my new place. Makes things much easier on me. Ah, and I forgot to pick up a bar of castile soap.like i wanted to, darn it! We had quite the rainstorm last night! Massive lightning bolts for about a half-hour, and it really came down! Our dog was let out so she can do her business, and she came right back in the second she stepped foot outside. Needless to say, we had to let her back out when the rain calmed down 🤣 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Nice here for the last few days ,and finally the whole household is testing negative for covid , its a nasty dose this latest variant, make sure your shots are up to date , covid flu and pneumonia, esp for us more susceptible in the population, I skipped the last covid booster and got more carelesss in crowds , have a new supply of masks and hand sanitizer ready for the winter ,stay safe everyone
