Tony https://photos.app.goo.gl/PHf6B4KKXLikBuFo9 High of 26C and sunny predicted for today. I have been absent here lately, because we are moving! Heaven help me!😩 We have bought a new place, only about 5 minutes drive away; just a quieter area, away from traffic noise, and better set up for us as we age. Good thing too, because I told my husband my next move better be in a pine box. I hate moving. Now to sell our current place - in a buyer’s market. Yikes! Tony, I’m glad to hear that both you and Sheila are recovering. I also noticed a difference in my output after gallbladder surgery - for the better. Your body is still recuperating, so even though you feel better, remember that recovery is 2 steps forward and 1 step back - so you will still have days when you feel fatigued. That will pass. What a time you both have been through! Linda, reading about your granddaughter’s gardening discoveries has been an absolute delight. Not all kids get the gardening “bug” - those who do are the lucky ones, I think. They become the stewards of the earth. I can tell that she gives you a lot of joy.🌺🌾🌻🐌🌱 Thanks for passing that joy on to us. Laurie Just a semicolon Lovely day today 20C with lots of sunshine , Thanks Laurie, now that Sheila is doing well I can take it a little easier , I was very bold today and had a fancy doughnut, It was just gorgeous, will report back later and see if it was worth it 😁 Nice weather here the last few days, dry with lots of sunshine and nice temps of 21C/23C. Other than overcast and some rain, the temperature has been marching towards 30C! Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday of next week are expected to be over 30C, hopefully with some sun! On an even more positive note, our local farmer's markets have opened up! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Cold and rainy here In northeast Ohio on the lake. Last night was a severe thunderstorm alert for several counties. Hoping for some sun soon. Oh man, we've got a heatwave coming! It's supposed to "feel like nearly 40C in the next few days! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. @veganostomy I don't know what part of Canada you are in but I'm guessing you may be right across the lake Erie from me because we too are supposed to get this huge dreadful heatwave for a few days. TonyH ... How are you & Shiela doing? I hope its still a bit better everyday. How did that doughnut do? I tend to avoid the yeast risen doughnuts but will allow the occasional cake style doughnut or the sourcraem one...yummy! That is very kind of you to say that about me. I try to do my best to not let things weigh me down but it's not always easy, as when pain is a factor. That said, if I let gut pain stop me from doing what I like to do, I may never get much done. But there are those levels of no energy & pain, so, I have had to learn to listen to my body & take the days off that it decided to switch off ! I take full advantage of my good days though. Laurie, you are exactly right! Gwen does bring me so much heartfelt joy. I'm glad you've been enjoying our adventures. 🥒, 🌶, 🍅, 🌽, 🥔, Oops, we haven't grown potatoes yet, maybe next year. The same here in B.C. Canada, for a week of hotter weather coming up!! Yesterday afternoon we saw another storm moving in & it rained heavily on & off from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. with gentle thunder & lightening. The last few days have been overcast but, still warm. I spent 5 hours on a class field trip yesterday. We went to one of our lovely lakes with 3 classrooms of kids. For the most part, they were all so well behaved. Lots of Moms, another Gramma & bless their hearts, 5 very energetic Dads showed up & got in the lake with the kids. They all brought their lunches & several parents brought healthy snacks with a nod to Tim Hortons Tim Bits & someone else brought mudpies with gummy worms...gross , lol! It was so fun to see Gwen building sand castles around a large hole several kids had dug & then carting water from the lake to fill it. This kept about 8 of them so busy! I was impressed by how well all the kids played together. Not a care in the world! Time got away from the teachers & the bus driver had to come along & nudge them to look at the clock. If you ever tried to get 30 kiddos ready to leave the beach in 5 min., well, it's an experience! ... lolol! As the kids dwindled in from the lake & parents help rinse sand off of them, others collected sand buckets & shovels, rinsed them off and stacked them into the rather large folding wagon the teacher brought. I had started two lines of kids so they'd be ready for a headcount & to load the bus. The driver was pleased with how quickly things were done & we didn't make him late after all. At home again, Gwen & I were watering our potted plants & She was so excited to see several 1" long baby cucumbers forming & all with a yellow flower still attached. We have the start of one baby butternut squash, several tomatoes & each Pepper plant has a pepper or two growing already. She had seen all the flowers about 3 days ago, so to now see the veggies starting to grow, she became very talkative & excited seeing them & even told me I was right! "Each flower becomes a veggie!" Her strawberry plants also had 3 edible berries for her again, we have runners on some of them too. I forgot they did that. I've been paying pbysically for the lake trip since about 7:00 p.m. so before my off switch is hit all the way off, I'm going to take it easy today. Its the weekend, so, everybody stay safe & be well! Linda Hey Linda, no problems with the doughnut(s) 🍩😊, being honest since the gallbladder removal everything seems to be working a lot better, Sheila is doing great (thanks), she is going in to the hospital on the 30th June to get the stent and drain removed and if all goes well they will take the gallbladder out a couple of days later, hopefully it will be done laparascopically, Lovely to read your post as usual, you have such an easy to read writing style. @chelly North side of Lake Ontario. Yesterday was super hot, and the same today (thermometer reads 33C right now). I walked up to the grocery store, which is like a 15 minute walk, and I was SOAKED in sweat when I came back. Unbelievable! I don't even sweat that much when I'm on the bike, but it must be because the bike generates a breeze on the skin to keep you feeling cooler. I'm starting to understand what @njewell1 must feel like with this weather! 🤣 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Good Morning all Eric I see you are up to 33C sounds pretty warm for You up there . We have gotten up to 115 F so far but our humidity has only been in the 20's so not to bad yet . In the mountains where we're spending time when we can its been low as 39 F up to 90 F nice change for us . Today we're only looking for 101 F so slight cool down . Tony glad to hear things are going good for you and Sheila and wishing her the best with her upcoming surgery . LK sounds like you've got a nice garden growing looks like you have quite a variety . All I have this time of year is couple Habenero plants . Lost the Jalapeños due to heat . But I managed to freeze some . So I'm good for awhile . Good Day to you all Proctectomy , Ileostomy , Ulcerative Colitis It's been quite the heatwave here in ohio. I got up early to walk to the grocery store at 7 am so that I'd miss the real high heat. Made it back just in time. They are saying our high humidity is what's making it so unbearable. I've mostly just sat in my apartment with the ac the past few days. hey Chelly hope you are feeling better, even a small bit. @tony-h hello, thank you Tony,! Yes no more bowel obstructions and I'm eating well. Have to count my blessings for the good things! I hope you are doing well after your gallbladder surgery. I think I read your wife had issues too so I hope she is doing ok. We had a break with heat last night and it was amazing but then this morning the heatwave started up again. Muggy, hot, sweaty miserable weather. I like summer but I don't do well in humidity. It's funny, even my bag has humidity inside of it. This has been a bad start off to summer..we usually don't get like this till August. I guess it's better than snow anyhow. @chelly that's great news Chelly , you deserve some respite after what you've been through , My wife Sheila is doing well ,going in tomorrow to remove the stent from her bile duct and if all is well will have the gallbladder removed in a few days , Hate the humidity as well we don't really get high temps but the humidity can be high at times , Really happy to hear of your improvement.
