I had to walk up to the store to get a thumb immobilizer... the wind was brutal! Even though the air temperature was only -2c, the strong wind would push into your face, nose, and mouse, and the windchill stung! I had better times when it was -15c and less wind.

I can't wait for the warmth and calm weather to come back. LOL

Tony it would be a little cool for me but I could deal with your weather . Eric your weather would be a bit much for me to deal with for more than an hour or so . Lol We are on totally different ends of the spectrum . We are expecting 103° F by Friday then it will probably just keep going up .

High of about 2C today and snowing/raining off and on. If I see one more snowflake I think I’ll scream. April truly is the cruelest month. I haven’t done any yard work yet because it’s been miserable out. Hopefully next week will be better; I have a lot to clean up after the winter.

Tony, your puppy looks like she’s a lot of fun. LL, I would love to see your quilts.

Projected high of 12C today, and partly sunny. Got my snow tires off yesterday; I’m hoping that was a wise decision! (I often joke that a true Canadian doesn’t take their snow tires off until July. That was meant as hyperbole - okay weather gods? No more snow, okay?) Need to get doing some yard work today.

@tigerlily I think our temps reached 9 or 10c today, but the sun quite literally only peeked from beyond the clouds about a half hour before it set. What a tease! LOL

Good god! That's nearly 40c... a rarity here, even during a heatwave. If we get 32c (89f), people either lock themselves in their home, or head to the beach. 🤣

Hey all... I have had my Grand-D from noon to about 6 p.m. Thursday  & Friday, over night Friday for a "Grand" sleep over & then all day Saturday to almost 6:30.  I was so exhausted yesterday that I nearly cried. Only bcuz It's been so wonderful to do something normal that didn't include needing to lay down most of the day.!!

Yesterday I discovered a water leak in my kitchen! Ugh! Cleaning up breakfast, my socks kept getting wet & after the 3rd time when I knew I hadn't slopped water somewhere I began to investigate. I found a puddle forming, swollen base boards near the sink location. But, on removing a heater vent, I found water under the cabinet. In the cabinet, there was no sign of water leaking. Next, the dishwasher, DW  in short, I couldn't remove 2 stupid screws! So, I took my Grand & went on the hunt for a husband, not just any hubby, but one  who'd be willing to help. I borrowed Jack, literally of all trades! Lol!

Tough screws he said on finally removing them. Once looking under the dw there was my leak! It looked like it had been happening for some time. There was swollen wood. I have basement dwellers so needed to check the ceiling & walls there. They were free of issues. Yay. Jack & I set to placing a shallow pan under the culprit & drying floors & draining the water from inside the dw, about 3 gallons...? Then drying things up. So being a weekend, I'll watch things until Monday and then. I'm Still thinking on replacing it or repairing but it's over 20 years old & has seen a ton of dishes go thru it... ugh.  I can still see my hubby setting into place in the Old house.

This leak thing took too much time from my Grands & my play time! But when she went home, it was past my dinner time & I  was so exhausted.

We are on a BOIL WATER ADVISORY! Since Friday afternoon. That nice bright yellow notice scared me!  I've been down the Cryptosporidium road &  desperately fear a repeat.

On the upside,  the weather, though a bit chilly,  it has been sunny & breezy time. I've been sobbusy with my Gramd that temp just didn't matter. We had walks that included darling & picking dandelion, taking pics of leaves sneaking out of tree branches, awesome to see how new and fresh they are. There was lots of balancing on rocks for G & jumping off bigger ones.

Today is proving to be just as lovely outside. My gardens which over wintered with everything left as was, also need my attention.  Our local eco system bugs & birds needed the extra places to hide in winter,  I was told. I'm game to protect the local bug society for the environment anytime!

Have a great day everyone!!

@dlkfiretruck Water leak! Ackk! Looking for a “hubby to help” is a good plan. Glad you were able to get it fixed.

@tigerlily.   Oh! Talk about a fabulous day outside! Shirt sleeves & sunshine. Lovely visits with neighbour's outside prepping trailers,  a motorhome, a boat or two. All saying how beautiful it was today. I left my front door open a good 4 hours. The air fresh was fabulous!

I managed to get all the wet towels finished in the laundry today then it was 2:30 & my Grand was coming up the driveway with her big sister. Where did the day go?!!!

Well, it looks like I need to shop for a new dishwasher! Yikes.

A clear blue sky but cold outside so I turned on the house heat a bit. Will be lunching today at an Italian restaurant with a group of ladies I went to high school with. We haven’t seen each other for several months and look forward to it.

Overcast and hovering above freezing. It's crazy how it was in the low 20 Celsius a few weeks ago. We're going in the wrong direction! 🤣

Beautiful sunny day here; forecast of 13C today, 19 tomorrow. April has been 2 steps forward, one step back, but finally feels like it’s heading in the right direction.

Yesterday was sunny and just over 10c, so comfortable without much effort to stay warm.

Today... overcast and colder. But it looks like we'll be above 10C from here on out! Supposed to have lots of sun for the next few weekends, too!

Woke up to an inch and a half of snow on the ground this morning! Right now, late afternoon, it has mostly melted away.

This past weekend I found three t-shirts on the clearance rack at the Eddie Bauer store. They are a great loose fit, flare somewhat at the bottom and drape well over (and mostly hide) my belly that sticks out on the stoma side - a blue, a light blue-green-gray, and a mustard-gold that I especially like. They are women’s size - men’s/unisex size are too long on me. I am set for summer fashion!
