I've got the day off tomorrow, we eat at my maternal Aunts place with a whole gaggle of family. I'm very much looking forward to Turkey, Green Beans (maybe green bean casserole, I hope), home baked goodies, Mashed taters and gravy, dinner rolls, deviled eggs (a gal can hope). Pretty nice meal :) Plus I get to spend a holiday with my other family, 23 years and I am still grateful for where I work. Crohn's Colitis, Ilieostomy, Proctocolectomy November 2017 Happy day to all of us. My wife and I will be taking a vacation away from the world. We are celebrating our 43 wedding anniversary by taking a honeymoon . No work or school or bill collectors or kids or grandkids or brothers or sisters or any of the other distractions that keep disturbing us. Hope we are successful in our attempt to build our marriage even more so. Just each other. If this makes you jealous, my apologies. I made it my life goal to build our marriage up. Especially after facing my death or debilitating diseases. She is worth the efforts. I am almost embarrassed to share this with you, but... I feel that I can. Zviutsk ! Zvitusk, well I'm wishing you not only the Happy Thanksgiving and all of those wishes going around, but I'm also wishing you a very happy anniversary. You are so blessed and lucky to be able to spend time with your lovely wife. Make beautiful memories. I was widowed on December 26, 1997. So this year makes 20 years alone. We managed to make it to our 25th silver anniversary before he passed. But I don't kid around I let people know that it is a lonely thing and I do let them know that time might make it a little bit more bearable but it's still not enough. The best part is that I do have my my two sons and my daughter my oldest son reminds me so much of my husband it's sometimes makes me want to cry. But don't feel sorry for me that wasn't the purpose and telling you this. The purpose and telling you that was to tell you that every time you have the opportunity to kiss your wife stop and do it again because you just never know when you won't be able to kiss her. Every chance you get hold her and tell her you love her. I'm so happy for you doing this little honeymoon will build happy memories. All the best Barbara. Severe rheumatoid arthritis, spondoloarthropy, polymyalgia rhumatica, type 1 diabetic, IBS and finally, emergency diverticulitis surgery, colon removed Stella born Jan. 27, 2017. 6 bouts of c-diff, failed fecal transplant. Z, I hope you have a joyous and love filled anniversary. M, my boss told me to spread the meal out some. I told her I hoped to, some on my butt and some on my thighs. Those areas have not filled in yet. Crohn's Colitis, Ilieostomy, Proctocolectomy November 2017 Eric, be sure to come to the lounge a little bit later on. We're having a party as you know and in your honor I got some tofurky I think you may enjoy it. Complete colonectomy and ileostomy July 30, 2018. ENOUGH!! Eric, be sure to come to the lounge a little bit later on. We're having a party as you know and in your honor I got some tofurky I think you may enjoy it. Happy Thanksgiving everybody hehe. Don't joke - the traffic on my Tofurky review spikes every Thanksgiving! I'm thinking of doing more food reviews ;) Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Good plan. I have never been very good eating vegetables. I was raised by a meat-and-potatoes father. And it wasn't dinner if we didn't have the requisite amount of meat and mashed potatoes or baked potatoes or something like that. And now that I have medical issues I have been working on combining 3 diets to come up with something for me to eat There's a diet for diabetes, there's a diet for rheumatoid arthritis, and there's diet for the IBS. So I went to a dietitian and we kind of came up with plan based on carb counting from my diabetes diet and then adding to it from other things. Now it's a matter of swapping things in and finding veg that won't plug me up on the way through. I understand everything has to be cooked really well and that just ruins the taste of them. So I'll be watching for some recipes from you for veg stuff that I can work into my diet who knows where it will end up. I may possibly end up following in your footsteps. So keep an eye over your shoulder if you hear that huge thumping noise it's just me. Complete colonectomy and ileostomy July 30, 2018. ENOUGH!! So I'll be watching for some recipes from you for veg stuff that I can work into my diet who knows where it will end up. Truth be told, I had planned to include recipes as part of the website that would be tagged as "ostomy friendly" and things like that a little while ago. I had even invested over $100 on new software that I never ended up using because posting recipes like that will always be problematic. For one, there is no "safe" recipe for everyone - there's always someone who has this restriction or that, and I didn't want it to be criticized for not being helpful. The next point is that doing recipes properly (i.e. photos, video, exact measurements) is very time-consuming and I still have more content that needs to be finished before I move to something like that. Keep in mind that these plans were from over a year ago, and I haven't stopped putting out content! Thirdly is that I honestly don't use recipes myself - I use a general formula when I make meals and improvise for the rest of it. It's fun and you get different flavors every time :) I may end up doing an article on something like, "the lazy man's guide to cooking"! =)  Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Now I like the Lazys man guide to cooking, I can see that their are more pressing items you want to do first. Going back to your own Thanksgiving Dinner you posted the meal prepared by your Daughter, When the times right maybe you could both do meal ideas together. Vegan Cook Book not just aimed at ostomates but simply healthy eating. ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns
