Well people r coming in the lounge..  Robert is the main man via motor cycle trips.  They have their leather jacket on with "rosebud" lettering in  pink and then a picture of a rose under this.  From what I understand there was an issue with this at the Walmart parking lot with some of the truck drivers.  But, 'Z' and John and Tony got it under control. Later on that with our fellows.

Denney's has catered a Grand Sam breakfast for all day here.  Barb, is first in line. She has not gotten out much lately.. :-+     Between her and Robert,?????????????

Robert has his dog Louie here.  He has been sick.  A good rider on the Harley. D. tho. Tony is getting his Alfie too. Yes It is pet friendly day also, So I brought Mr. Poo my cat.  HE is in the corner. And our better half's are here also..

Now for the felicity's purple chair.  She was not able to use it as she was way to sick to come over during the holidays. Hope she is up to par now.  She had major surgery ++++++++ !!

O.K. the vote is in. Jeff gets the comfy chair.  - Barb!!  It is an all day buffet!!!!!! This is your third time in line..  Go bake another cake!! :-)  that a girl!! Your late birthday too!!

Eric, is coming later--doing a video.... We all may be in it …… Be at  your best.. (but I think he likes the dogs more, look at him over there!! ) Anyone with a quote???? We should vote for a quote page-- I am in for it..  (Makes for a nice day to remember some strength from others when we are down) Mr. 'Z' always has something nice...

Hi everyone,

This is my first posting to the lounge and I am thrilled to be able to talk about something other than my stoma.

I enjoy crafting - I make cards, do needle felting, sew, and some knitting. Is there anyone out there that enjoys doing crafts?

I make cards for fun, but I also needle felt animals and fantasy figures of about two to three inches in height and sell them in my daughter's book shop. It's great fun, but requires sitting, which is still a bit hard for me to do for long periods. I plan to get back to it ASAP.

My card making started about 10 years ago and is quite addictive! I have a group of friends that also card make and we get together every couple of months to put "kits" together that we make for each other, then have lunch. Each of us gets a turn to put on these little events and it is quite fun.

Well, I have to end here - I could go on forever!

Have a great day!

Stella

Hi Stella, It great to here of your interests and hobbies. You would get on well with my wife she is always making, sewing or knitting! At the moment she has been making baby things as her sister is due in July! I am a keen gardener and enjoy vintage and classic tractors. I agree its not always about our stoma and it exists so we can once again enjoy life. It would be great to follow Stellas lead here and share some of the things we enjoy doing. Stella my wife is a great fan of pinterest for ideas for her craftwork

Hi John,

I also go on Pinterest when I am fresh out of ideas for my cards.  All my designs for  my needle felting are original.

I also love to garden - mainly for veggies, but that is out of the question until I fully heal. It's killing me to see my garden so overgrown with weeds!  I am managing to keep my perennial garden relatively weed free by using a four-pronged long handled fork, but the vegetable garden is beyond hope this year. My husband usually helps me, but he's so busy with work, it's impossible for him to help me at this time. Oh well, there is always the farmer's market! By-the-way, what kind of gardening are you interested in?

Hi Stella, Perennials are a favourite of mine I love the mass and mix of colour, this with a back ground of shrubs for all year effect! On the veg side I keep it simple spuds and beans and peas. we have a lot of rabbits and the furry little folk seem to get in no matter how we fence. one thing that seems to work is to scatter chimney soot! they don,t like the smell. You will soon get back into it again and their is always away to do the harder jobs without doing yer self any harm! its a matter of thinking round it. plus never be shy to ask for help

The garden club of Spokane, WA  heaved a sigh of relief when I moved out of my house and into an apartment  the death rate out local flowers went way down.  Seems i am blessed with a "black" thumb. I can kill the fake flowers I  the displays!!! So I like to go around and take photos of them.  I also love to photograph the country side. I also love too crochet.  I like to make projects and donate them. And yes that does make me a hooker!

I made something.. Got a piece of wood, stained it, and got a mouse trap and sprung it, glued it open, and glued in on the wood with a nice size button in the middle. then I put  saying on it.              ***     COMPAINTS? PRESS BUTTON...…… FOR SERVICE...……..  this hangs In my kitchen..  And I do point to it many times.. : -)  hahaha ……………………….. Marcie..

Hey Robert, We grow 2 different kinds of  parsley, peppers, rosemary, and chives. etc.. easy..  on our deck.  Got a large deck.. so a corner is good.. It sits up high so don't have to do the 3 staries for  watering.  Keeps the bunnies and bears off the plants.  mostly…………. Tom really enjoys this gardening up on the deck at his old age. Love the parsley and the chives for omelets!!

ANd YEs Barb, My thumb is not in the garden guide either.  So I get some that take care of them selves, up on the deck and Tom waters them with joy.  NIce to see flowers on the deck outside the glass doors of our love .. The yard so to big for many plants etc. so we have a good nice lawn front and back and woods.and to much work -- the weeding in the gardens in front is way to much for me anyways,  But Got to do it any ways.. So tom mowes the lawn 2 times a week, and water the flowers and such on the deck..  And I weed the front garden (all 3 of them) hate it!!!!!!!!   to much of work, then I have to wait for Matt to pick them up and ditch them in the woods. As I am half mast of engery now.  But I am out there doing it.. Once again it is progress, and that is important.  No one else will do it.. Which reminds me-- I have to do it asap.  first time his year..and the weeds are high in there.. :-( not looking the house nice at all!!

Hi Robert and John,

My little perennial garden is doing pretty well. My lupines are just beginning to blossom and the others - coral bells, heather, lavender, echinacea, irises, etc. are coming in nicely. I also have lupines, irises, crane bill, coreopsis, myrtle, and sweet williams that are wildly growing on a hillside.

My husband and I used to grow a huge crop of potatoes - among many other things - but, have been having problems with blight. It reminded me of the potato famine in Ireland! (By-the-way, my father always called me his little Irish girl - my maiden name is Calhoon - because I love spuds so much!)

I do some knitting, though my daughter is much better at it than I. I make simple things such as scarves, hats, mittens, and wrist covers. My sewing, though I used to make stuffed animals and clothing,  is limited these days to repairs, alterations, and making little skirts for my granddaughter.  I mainly focus on card making and needle felting.

Hi Stella, That sounds like a lovely riot of colour, plants like these also bring a lot of insect and bird life into a garden. Have you ever traced yer Irish roots. Being handy with a needle and thread can be useful to alter and help clothes fit better to suit your pouch

Hi John,

My father's grandfather came from Donegal. When he came to America, he opened a bakery. My father had his records as to how much of this and that he used to make breads, cakes, cookies, etc. (a peck of this, a few liters of that). I saw a picture of my great-granddad and he had a "neck ruffle" for a beard with no mustache.  For some reason the picture only showed the males in the family - my great granddad with my grandfather and his brothers. My father never made it to Ireland - though it was a lifetime dream. However, he did so much research on its history and topography, you'd have thought that he had lived there all his life. So far as I know, we still have distant relatives over there.
