I'll be Orlando in the next few weeks and have several days by myself - does anyone have any ideas for cheap entertainment?

Should be nice weather-- I lived in Florida for 7 years. Palm Beach Gardens- a few blocks from the ocean- Been to Orlando- Could be expensive as Dinsey land/world is there.  But I am sure that u can find many interesting areas.. the wax museum I think is still there.. Fun.. Look for coupons in the daily papers-I love the big breakfasts all around that place... Enjoy Eric!!!!!   Can I come??????? M.-I am enteraining.......???????????????? huh?

I'm going to an IBD conference and I plan to go to Universal Studios with some friends, but I'll have a day or two alone and wanted to see what options are available.

Maybe I can find a hiking trail 😀

Universal studios is great!!!!!!!!!! I like that one best-when we lived in Fl. --even tho it was a 3 hours drive, found coupons cheep (in paper-also ask your hotel for some) to get in-This is the time of year that u can fine these.. and the hotels are cheaper.. out of season..  but don't forget, they had hurricanes etc. and had water damage--

Hiking trails---watch out for FIRE ANTS!!!!!!!!!! even tho it may be on the hotter side for u wear long socks and hiking boots. They are fast little suckers!! I could not wear shoes for 6-8 weeks after I steppted on a nest -many times-- and they are all around--look for gray little sand piles for them-mostly after a rain!!!  them.. And if your like me, you will bump your head on palm trees.trying to avoid them I would not suggest the space ship area, It is rather a bla area,-and nothing there as far as eating's etc. But u have the coast-- that is lonely- all Government property.. u can drive for ever around that area and u see no one.. except guards.   Just watch out for the fire ants!!! they can be up your crouch within 2 seconds!! trust me!! Talk about a strip tease show.. :-(  Can ruin your trip and your next few months.. Bringing your blog with you???  They have a swimming slide -wave area there also- if u bring the kids-- But these days u can get any info. and check on your computer and see what is REALLY is what-- They have lovely trails along the beach's........ May be about a 4 hour drive one way..  I was near/by Juno,  Juppiter beach- My walking beache's.. Yes, I saw Burt Renolds many times and talked with him-- so full of himself..  I am sure that u can find a nice place to be on your lonely days.. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!

Fire ants, eh? Maybe a hike would not be a good idea 🤣🤣

I may decide to just write or make a few videos in the hotel 🤔

Eric, u can still go hiking- Just after a rain is when they really come out if different areas of my lawn-I always had this large container of fire ants killer at home, a few sprinkles id the rick-but had to walk very carefully doing this chore.. Any warm place from D.C. south gets them.. Lousy little buggers. If u can get to the ocean- a bit south of the space cape--the beach is just wonderful to walk--clears your head and your I a different place all together.. I always went to the beach every day for this.. That is where the life guards would watch me saying "here comes Marcie, bumping into palm trees avoiding those fire ants".. they would laugh at me..  but were able to find me a woman buddy to walk with after I was attacked after a hurricane and many trees were washed up on shore--PEOPLE!! DON'T WEAR HEAD PHONES WLAKING ALONE!!!!! you cant hear your attacker coming!!! Any place u walk!!! Just enjoy your walk that is what a walk is for enjoyment!! Well talk about getting off track huh Eric???????

The beach would be nice, but it's too far from where I plan to stay. Might still consider a hike - not 100% sure on that.

Keep us in your daily thoughts Eric.. "like what are they up to now???"

Yam let us know how your doing down south.. Enjoy the weather.. If u swim, go to a ice hotel.motel with a pool.  Just park your car, and walk in with your suit/what ever on and bag--and take a swim.. I always did this if I wanted to pool it-- use the outside gate--and mind your own business.  I didn't have  a pool at my house as we lived so close to the ocean-and the storms w/pool?  major work $$$$$$$$$ and floodings..  Then I could use the pool, walk the ocean beach there-and if there is a luncheon area open-go buy something-so they think that your a guest.. A water or something.. I did this all the time.. :-) Hope the weather is nice for you all...........

I'll have an internet connection and will be updating my social media with the stuff we're doing there... lots of education and advocacy work!

Not sure that I'll be getting in any water, but I think most of the hotels in the area have pools.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about long hours..  You must love us!!!!!! What with all that u have put into this blog, and the skills of computers etc.  never mind that you were so sick (I read your blog) and only a few years after your operations-- SUPER MAN!!!!!!!! But I do have a good 20 yeas on you...  But, still, I was not sick like some here for years and years either-I just got it full blast-and the comma? I think that helped me through the pain. Yes, I guess when your body goes into a 2 months comma, It didn't really give up-just decided the pain and other issues-body just cant handle it.. Mind goes out to lunch.. Even death was part of this, I am happy that I am back with full mind and body-It could be worse!! Now to keep it that way-and gain some weight-but I have decided not to worry about that-

Anyways ----------- Thank You for all you doing for us.. if ever u stuck at Bradley field-springfield, Mass-Hartford, ct. I am in the book.. close by--- you know the last name?- first is Thomas

Eric, I hope you thoroughly enjoy your trip to Orlando and I hope you have excellent weather.   I'm not sure of many inexpensive things to do in central Florida and you say Cocoa beach may be too far. I'm not sure if you're interested in space exploration but Cape canaveral does tours, though not helpful for you due to distance and expense.  I wish I could be more help because you've helped me so much.

I've considered cape Canaveral and even heading to Tampa for Busch Gardens but the uber costs would be crazy. I'll probably try to visit one of the larger malls in the area, since I don't have to go out of my way to get to one from where I'm staying.

Cape Canaveral is nice to visit/short visit unless u want to really stand in front of old space capsels and smile. Once was enough for me.. But you  men enjoy that stuff.    but nothing really around-even resturants-I think only one.. Bush gardens is wonderful  !!!!!  Lovely gardens and free beer! Tampa is nice also-the old homes along the coast and water ways.. And your by the ocean!! So, u can go for a walk ... Nice beaches- I was on the east side.  The "cape" is on the east side also- maybe u can get an extra few days and fly out of Tampa? Seasonal rates are now in.. But not for long... Summer is cheep too! Have a wonderful time Eric..

The travel arrangements have already been made, so I can't stray too far off. I have to pay for everything after Saturday, so I have to keep an eye on the expenses.
