I would like to sew some vertical ostomy belts or wraps. Are sewing patterns available any where? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I only have my ileostomy ~ 2 weeks. I am crafty and would like a bit of a challenge. Thank-you

I've been thinking of making one myself, but I'm neither good with a sewing machine or have the time to, but I do have an idea that you might want to try.

If you can do a basic ostomy pouch cover (I do believe this would be easy enough), but leave a small hole on each side to allow for a standard accessory belt to be clipped onto your appliance, then it should work well to both support and conceal your appliance.

Of course, true vertical ostomy belts will apply some pressure to the appliance to lower your profile, but those are more complex to make and would require a more specialized fabric and a belt that's attached directly to the pocket that holds your bag.

If you do make something, I'd love to see it!

Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate.

Wnorm, I too would be interested in what you come up with. I’m not super crafty, but I do have a sewing machine and some cute fabric. Thanks!!
