If convex barrier rings get smashed in your kit are they still salvageable? I overdid it and packed 6 full changes in my kit, plus 2 in my secondary convatec bag. If convex barrier rings get smashed in your kit are they still salvageable? Oops! I don't use convex products, so I couldn't tell you. If you remove them from the package, are they still convex or are they flat now? That might give you the answer. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. They're still convex. These are thr hollister convex rings. They don't come individually wrapped like the coloplast. I rearranged my kit so hopefully that was a one time problem. They're still convex. Do the best that you can with organizing them, but if they are still convex, I wouldn't worry too much about it. One thing I would say to be cautious about, not just for the travel kit but with any at-home kits, is to make sure that the wafer stays flat and doesn't develop any folds or wrinkles. I had a 1pc appliance inside my at-home kit which was folded in half and developed a permanent crease. I didn't end up using it, but I'm 100% sure that it would have caused a leak, since the crease basically created a channel for output to flow through. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. I never thought about that but thankfully I'm using 2 piece appliances. I rearranged the convex wafers so that they are in the clear detachable pouch in thr middle of the kit. I put one on late last night from the kit. So far so good.
