Hi Janice, it sounds like you've got a prolapsed stoma, which a stoma nurse should have a look at to make sure it's at least healthy.

When cutting your wafer, make sure that the hole you make is a little larger than your stoma. If your stoma gets larger when it prolapses and bleeds because of that, I do suggest having a nurse offer you guidance. Good luck.

So all Ostomy bags have the hard plastic for the belt? I do not use the belt and find that hard plastic very uncomfortable. I cut off the tabs but the hard plastic goes all the way around.

Hi Debbi, bags that have belt clips will have a hard plastic ring for the coupling.

The only 2pc system that does not have a plastic ring would be adhesive coupling appliances. Alternatively, 1pc systems don't have any plastic or coupling and will be more comfortable.
