Awesome conversation and we think we have it figured out. Carol is a gem to work with and we will see how what she comes up with will work. Apparently she may have made the whole a little larger than it should have been. I also suggested that she look at including an elastic component in the sewing around the hole to hold the cover snugger to the flange. She is going to send me a couple of replacements, updated with the Peak A Boo cover, that has only been included in the Ostomy bags, not Urostomy. I am sure that this will get resolved and i will be a happy camper. @spence That's so wonderful to hear! Yes, Carol is amazing! I'm the one who had brought up the peek a boo design many years ago with her, so I'm really happy to hear that she still offers it! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. The peek a boo design is included on the Ostomy covers but has no been on Urostomy covers. I did suggest that she move the cover slot down as, please confirm, the Ostomy bag probably fills from the top down vs the Urostomy bag which fills from the bottom up? With Urostomy, of course, you can only let your bag get 1/3 to 1/2 full as there is then the weight issued on the flange and we won't go further... Will update when i get the new bags and have a chance to try them. Unfortunately, in Ontario and Canada Post, it takes 2 weeks, expedited service to go from Cayuga to Barrie... due to Covid19 they say. Let us know how they work out for you! With regular ileostomy/colostomy output, the stool should fall to the bottom of the bag, as with the urostomy. When it doesn't fall to the bottom and collects near the top, we call that "pancaking" which is NOT the desired outcome! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. I have sent Carol a couple of pictures and a diagram to see if what she might be able to do, and this would i think maybe help with an Ostomy bag as well, suggested she might even want to contact you for your thoughts, but, allow a 1 3/4 inch slot in the sides of the cover to allow for the typical elastic belt to go through that would attach to the bag flange. This would go through the side of the cover and then hold the cover in place. I would expect more securely, and therefore the bag could not come off without unlatching the elastic belt. Thoughts? @spence Funny enough, I've been wanting to make a pouch cover with that exact design for ages now, but I'm neither craft enough or have the time to do it, so it would be interesting to see what Carol comes up with if she decides to go that route. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Just got my updated Urostomy covers from Grandma's Hands and they are perfect! The hole on the back was too big, better now, there are 2 sewn slots, one on each side for my elastic belt to go through to hold the bag and cover on, and the little "peek a boo" slot is perfect as well. Well done Gramdma! 10 out of 10! :-D @spence Please post a photo!! Sounds awesome! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. A couple of changes. The sides have a nice opening on both sides so your typical elastic belt can attach to now also hold the cover on you more securely. Also peek a boo window and the bottom is double sewed to allow you to tuck the drain inside the cover an not bee seen. I bought one of their pouch covers at the beginning of my journey here, about 3 years ago now, and mine is still going strong - havent even had to wash it! (Just kidding.. could you imagine!?) But it's a great pouch cover. Definitely one of my go to's! I bought one of their pouch covers at the beginning of my journey here, about 3 years ago now, and mine is still going strong Chris! I hope you've been doing well! Thanks for confirming how awesome these pouch covers are :) Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. @spence...yes, for sure call them! I think you just got someone else's order, or perhaps elastic not being there is a mistake they can correct. Regardless, they need to know this, if anything, it will help them further improve their services. It sure can't hurt! All the best! Linda Linda
