I love donating and swapping and giving, it's harder with precuts.
I also like to take one or two to make a nude statue even prettier

Hi Veronica, this article might help in the short term : https://www.veganostomy.ca/finding-ostomy-supplies-when-stuck/

But depending on where you live, you may be able to get your supplies covered. I suggest contacting your local ostomy chapter to see what options are available for the long term.

Hi Steve,

Please have a look at the article and decide which option to donate works best for you.

If you live in the US, you should have no trouble finding an organization that will take them.

I ordered by error mini bags, which I can not use, being I would fill them up in just a couple of hours. I took the box with me to my Ostomy nurse, thinking they might be able to use them, but she told me she would send it to a place that gives them to needy people with no insurance. I would try and find out the name of this place for everyone here.

Yes, if it's not already on the list, I'd love to know where your nurse sends them.

LOL, I thought this was hilarious.  The first thing that popped into my head when I read it was Peyton Manning's statue out side of the stadium in Indianapolis!

I had way too many wafers so I donated them to a local hospital. Now each month I had a few extra boxes of bags some powder and wafers. Hopefully my insurance will not be any wiser. Sorry I do not want to leave my name for obvious reasons

Hi all,

I just donated my unused items to ostogroup.org. But there are a number of groups on the Internet that you can donate to. When donating items that you will be mailing, I suggest sending it priority as during the summer, the heat could affect the adhesion of the barriers.

Hello Rosy,

If your mom is a US citizen and on Medicare, they will pay for the ostomy supplies. Find a supplier ( like Colopalst or Hollister ..or many others) that will send you the supplies and bill directly to Medicare account. This works great. You have to go through the suppliers ( whatever brand you choose) and then set it up through them so they can bill the medicare people directly.  Not all of them do this as I discovered when I was first getting started . If they don't you have to pay out of pockets and get reimbursed, I think. More paperwork!

And I wish your mother good luck with this new thing. Its often a real blessing.

Hope this helps. and welcome to the forum.

Onset of severe Ulcerative Colitus Oct.2012. Subtotal colectomy with illiostomy July 2015; Peristomal hernia repair ( Sugarbaker, mesh, laparoscopic) May 2017.
