Yesterday I recieved an email titled "Would you like to give input to the future of ostomy care?" A research firm contracted by Coloplast would conduct two 2 hour online interviews and require two 30 min. homework assignments. they would compensate $400 via paypal for the input. Did anyone else get this email? ulcerative colitis since 2011 Not I, but I'd be dubious of such an offer. Sounds more like a way to get personal information to rip you off. Side note, I purchased an item from a company that was later bought by Coloplast. I've tried for months to get off their mailing list. After they bought the company I'm blasted with junk constantly. Unsubscribing does nothing. Finally after several months of trying, I blocked their IP in my mail system! Retired engineer, now goatherd Contact Coloplast directly, to make sure they are indeed under contract. Otherwise do not give them any information. If they are contracted by Coloplast do not give them any information that could compromise your paypal account security. NO PASSWORDS. No other personal financial information. Why? I've been in touch with a coloplast rep for at least six months on the phone and email. the request came through his email so I'm pretty sure it's legit. However the offer was closed by the time I looked into it further because they limited the amount of people they needed. ~BOB ulcerative colitis since 2011 Always...Better Safe Then Sorry Later! The extra money would be nice but even if it was legit, this is the time of year scammers get even more clever then before. So guard yourself & your accounts. If in doubt check it out with the main company they, say they represent. Linda Yes, I got the same email request and deleted it right away. I don't trust scammers as far as I can throw 'em! Stella I've had to be super vigilant these past several months about scams, but I will say that it wouldn't surprise me if it's legitimate - many companies will do something like that, often through a stoma nurse, but it depends on what they are looking for. I would contact them directly and see how it goes. If it is a scam, they should know anyway so they can warn other people. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Do you mean to say that I just threw away $400! Egad! Oh well, I am not one for answering polls or anything like them. :-? Stella Do you mean to say that I just threw away $400! Egad! Oh well, I am not one for answering polls or anything like them. :-? Stella haha, well, some of them ARE scams, but not all of them :) And some aren't going to be worth your time. If it's a $20 Amazon gift card for multiple follow-ups then those will get a pass. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Back in May 2021 I received a $200 Amazon Gift Card for an ostomy study. As I remember it, I spent about an hour on the phone with a couple of ladies who asked all kinds of questions about ostomies, stomas, etc. Only a little about appliances. I believe it was sponsored by Coloplast which I don't use. Nice to get "Free" money for not much work. :-) Bill
