So I call my medical supply co. To explain the manager was sending me different bags due to adhesive issues. She looks me up and says oh yes your convatec? And I said no ma’am look at the very last prescription that was sent to you. So she comes back on and says the activelife convatec? Ok so now I’m thinking no way how can I get this women to understand? But I say I told you it’s the very last prescription gum the end of November and instead of putting me on hold I hear her talking to herself out loud saying you did not tell me, you did not tell me!! You need therapy she says. I think she thought that she put me in hold lol!! I need therapy she says. And I’m like oh really? After she finally got things right I told her how unprofessional that was but in a nice way. I’m sure she gets hit with a lot of people being angry about orders and such but I was very patient and nice. Ah Chelly, I would say you have been the bigger person . Yep I don’t think a lot of folks realise that what maybe a medical supply has such an impact on everyday life. If it helps I think you handled that really well and I wish you a GREAT WEEKEND 🤩🙏👍 ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns Good Morning Chelly You handled that very tactfully . I always try to be polite and nice too but sometimes..... Proctectomy , Ileostomy , Ulcerative Colitis Oh, my! I'm glad you handled it well, but that lack of professionalism is disappointing for someone who's helping people with medical conditions. 👎 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. I would be looking for a new supplier me thinks! Retired engineer, now goatherd @goatherder well, the way I thought about it is she is only one person at this company. I had another company that would not even send my supplies and I’m covered under insurance. I had to pay for my supplies from that company all summer and was very expensive for me. It actually caused s major financial setback for me. I just got this company and there of course were hiccups but the supervisors straightened those out. I’m on a plan that has very little options for suppliers. One thing I have noticed is all the suppliers have seemed to sell out to foreign employees since covid hit. Columbia, Philippines etc…. But that’s not only medical suppliers it’s even my cell company, my insurance and everything. When you call in you are speaking with employees that are overseas. The biggest one and the funniest one is I called somewhere can’t remember but there were roosters cockadoodle doo!!! Loud as can be in the back round . I laughed so hard and asked where are you? She said Philippines. I told her I must have had her before because I heard the roosters the day before when I called and she says no there are a bunch of us here at the same place. Hi @Chelly, Sounds like a terrible experience. Wish they could get some people who actually use the products and maybe they would be a bit more understanding. Maybe there are some, but it doesn’t sound like many. I tried doing customer service a few years ago and failed spectacularly! I wanted to try that as. Starting off point because I wanted to help people not have bad experiences like I’ve had in the past. Oh how naive I was! The fast pace and expectations made me quit 2 weeks after I finished training. I would’ve been let go had I stayed. Because of that though, I try to be extra nice whenever I have to call any kind of customer service (including my former company,) because I’ve seen it from the other side. There were days when I started to think of the person I was supposed to be helping as just another number because of the number of calls I had to take. It’s definitely not for everyone! Lol Brian Nechrotizing Enterocolitis 7/3/1982 @zhtfreak I did customer service for 12 years and it was stressful only because I was not the manager and had to go to them before resolving something. So if the client did not like the outcome I took the brunt of the reaction from the unsatisfied customer. It gave me stomach issues that job.
I sometimes think these reps do not understand that this is our toilet of sort. Like if we can’t get supplies in time we may be standing over a bucket.
by the way at the end of my call I told her I do have a therapist because I am stressed out dealing with companies that can’t get their crap together and I spend most of my days off on the phone taking care of. I did say it in a good tone of voice though even though she deserved the alternative

My friend in Australia got the roosters as well when she called customer service for something and my bank tellers daughter. Well good laughs anyhow but yeah not too much of a choice switching at this point but at least I do have a caseworker at my insurance that will advocate and help me when things arise. The rude girl…. Well let’s just say she’s lucky I’m a nice person. I could have called and complained and I didn’t.

Anyhow calling my suppliers I try explaining to them calmly that this is our toilet of sort and if we don’t get our supplies that we may have to call off work and use a bucket until our supplies arrive. I tell them you have a toilet but this is where our poop goes into we have no choice lol! But truth.
