@veganostomy  Thank You Eric!  Yes, I'll let you know how the Electricians tape works running up against the Painters tape! Lolol, I still can't believe the answer was right in my drawer in the first place! I use the painters tape for making borders on my painting paper and for binding the cords to my fish tank. SO, why I never thought to use it for the edges of my pouch, well, that is just silly on my part.

The thing about painters tape is & esp. with Water colour painting, theres a lot of "wet" involved all around the taped edges, more so then with Acrylic painting,  so , why not painters tape??!!!  Its pretty durable & to have not even what I thought was a bit of a swet looking type of thing across the harder plastic, thats not there now, even with the crazy last two weeks so, ... well, lets just say, I hadn't missed that or the blue at all!!

So I don't get too far behind on this experiment & write a too long post, I'll update now. Lol!  So I did a 2nd round of painters tape. It was not as impressive as the 1st round & needed extra tape supporting it.  Maybe it was old tape from the dollar store, who knows!!

I'm midway through a hopeful 10 days with the electricians tape & I am really liking the results so far. It bends better then the painters tape & has not required reinforcing as yet. Being a thicker tape then the painters tape, I have to make sure the center of the roll up opening is a snug roll for the 2 little pieces of plastic at the very beginning of the opening.

Otherwise, so far so good. If this doesn't work, than on with the Duct Tape! Lol!

Lol! When you speak of duct tape...the good Ole gray tape! Reminds me of my grandfather.  He fixed absolutely everything with it. I hope the electricians tape works out but are you having to put on a new peice each time you empty?

Hey I figured a way to keep.the ostomy garments cleaner but the way.  In case there is any left over poop smells on the end of the bag after rinsing and cleaning up with a wipe. I have been folding a long strip of toilet paper and then folding it onto the end of my bag and clip and then tucking it away. So the toilet paper will be against the garment instead of the end of the bag. So far so good. As time goes on I will see how much of a difference. I'm already noticing they are not as bad.

@chelly ... Hey You... No, I put the tape  on once for the whole wear time & also there was no extra applications of tape for extra support either. . I'll try & put a picture up this week. Its been so crazy busy here & I'm  exhausted.  I got that Iron infusion & things are a struggle.  I'll  post about it in another forum.   I am putting the tape on the sides only & one piece on the top hard plastic just before the velcro.  There was absolutely no leaks where the folds happen with the electricians tape.  The leaks are just a  tiny amount,   just very annoying once the plastic on the folds gives way & requires a pouch change, so no odor issues there either. Its usually spotted bcuz of the M9 leaking out first before I eat anything which causes my guts to move & as I said, theres also no output leaks as I catch it quick enough.  However the tape does not like the fabric which I put just a little high this time on the top pieces up to the pouch, so I had to be cut it off as the pieces on the fabric came loose,  but that made no difference in the support it gave.

I'm glad the duct tape gave you a sweet memory.  Grandparenrs are special people!  Chelly,  I don't wear any support Garments & I have no odor issues at all on my clothing.  Perhaps post about it on your forum  with all the odor issues so others can follow your experience as well.  I do wonder though if your serious lack of vitamins is what is giving you some of these odor issues. I'd love to know what your doctor says about that.

@dlkfiretruck hi,

A picture would be great! Yes I've wondered the smell thing about the vitamins. I asked my doctor if I smelled bad and now she put that in my chart. Lord . You can't even ask an honest question.

My thought is that because painter's tape is designed to be easily removed (as not to damage walls), it may not be strong enough to hold as well as electrical or duct tape.

Hey, there are probably dozens of different tape types to try 🤣

Best of luck! Keep us updated!

@veganostomy ... Thank you Eric, thats a good point!!  I've moved on to duct tape AND, lol, electricians tape.  I have  presently been trying duct tape. But, that has not gone well! By the morning of day 3 there were leaks from small tears in the plastic of the duct tape anywhere there was a fold. I've reinforced with electricians tape & will be going back to full elect. tape in the morning to confirm my tape findings! Lol!

Dare I try Scotch Tape?! Lol!

I'm willing to bet that would give you the worst results, since scotch tape tends to be brittle.

Clear Gorilla tape has been something I've used around the home with good results. It's designed to be tough, waterproof, etc. It's more expensive than most regular tape, so that may be a factor to consider.

Is the Gorilla Tape a thick type of tape ? I have not ever seen it in our small town & have considered trying it if I could have a look at it first... lolololol .

@dlkfiretruck Yes, I'm sure you actually didn't intend to use scotch tape!

Gorilla tape is thicker than standard, clear packing tape. It's almost rubbery(?), so it contours well. They may have more than one type, but the clear stuff is what I've used at home for years.

What about hytape? It's waterproof and good for so many things for ostomy. I always asked it the pink tape.

Hello Eric... I can't seem to post pictures. I've tried a few days now & its just not happening. There's 2 pics that I'd like to post & though I'm able to choose the right pic,  one at a time,  I'm not successful in posting. I'm not sure if its me or if its a computer error of some sort. Your help would be appreciated when you have time.  Thank you!!
