So I decided to steam a bunch of fresh broccoli in my InstantPot last night - I usually steam potatoes in it.

I figured that 4 minutes would be enough to do its magic... wrong! I should have used 1 minute!

On the bright side, if you want to make broccoli pudding, use the 4 minute setting! LOL

No kidding! It's actually perfect if you don't mind the consistency. I had the equivalent of three large heads - mixed with some vegan margarine and hot sauce. Now that I think about it, I'll likely be making it again because it was so tasty! LOL

I must be related to Ronald Reagan... I cheered when he said "no more brocolli" and again when they told me to not eat it with an ostomy!!!

Ha! Well, I would always say to eat broccoli in whatever form you can manage because it's that healthy 😁

I have just worked out what an Instant pot is. (I know theirs always one) its what we call a Presure cooker! remember back in the day my mum had one. that was the old heavy metal type with the big heavy screw thing on the lid. it used to scare the life out of me as a child. when finished steaming it was carried to the back door and the big screw was released and it spit and rattled. Looking back it was a cross between cooking and bomb disposal. Am sure the modern ones are nothing like.

John, yeah, it's a brand of all-in-one cooker that's really popular over here. Scored a great deal during Amazon Prime Day and we use it at least once a day.

I've never owned a pressure cooker before, so new things like the broccoli are still very much a new experience for us!

My wife won't have a pressure cooker in the house. Her mother's exploded.
I have been using the microwave. I use a steam-n-bag for veggies. I have to be careful about chewing down the fiber.
I think your pot is better for ostomates.

Yikes! This one has several safety features, so I feel pretty comfortable using it. The ones that look like stove top pots with a clamp lid scare me 😯

Maybe I should get one-and hope it explodes as I have a water drip in my kitchen ceiling that goes all the way into the family room.. To costly now to repair.. with my luck the lid will find my face and bust my teeth.. ----  I have that luck...... I do remember the old ones tho-- scary..... Mom would release and run.......
