@tony-h ... yes, I'm sure it's much more spooky at night, but you'll NEVER see me there. As a young teen, some boys from our church were playing with a ouji board a friend of theirs snuck in the house & well, speaking of haunted & spooky! They were not alone in what was experienced as their parents were also in the house. Terrible things went on that night, my own Mom was there as well. So when you say there is one cell in particular that is more haunted, know that you are likely very correct!! Interestingly & sadly enough, both the boys I knew had their demons after that and neither of the two boys lived past age 24. Ugh, this topic always makes my arm hair stand on end! Lol. You can imagine, I'm not one for Halloween freaky stuff, just the cute kids thing! Lol!! It was a chilly night here in my part of British Columbia, in 🇨🇦 Canadas only desert! We went down to minus 2°c and windy, I had to close my bedroom window around 1:30 a.m. There is a 20% chance of snow later today according to our forecast clouds, lol. Temps may go as high as 6°c for our day time, we'll see though as it's still early in the day & as we all know, weather can change in a minute! I'm still itching to play in the dirt again but for now, I'll try & be content in planning where I'll plant what! I'm very interested in this companion gardening thing. Last year in growing Gwens peas & cucumbers, I saw how well our 1st cuke vine did, opposite to where I grew the butternut & spaghetti squashes! So I'm considering growing the squash where the cukes were. I just hope it's a good companion for the cucumbers that Gwen has asked for again this year oh, along with her 2 packages of peas & her baby tomatoes! She has trouble saying tomatoes & calls them "totos!" If you've never planted even a small part of a garden with a small child, try & interest one in it if you have one around. If you have no small child or grandchildren around, borrow one from neighbour's! They are so funny & delightful to work with & most of them aren't afraid of bugs & worms! Ugh! Thank goodness for gloves & small shovels! Linda Wet and windy here today , 6C but feels cold and damp Today seemed to have one theme: WIND. I spent a good amount of time just watching the trees blowing in the wind, and wondered which one will eventually need to come down if severe wind becomes the norm. All the original trees in my neighbourhood are 40+ years old, so some are massive, and several have already been cut down as they became too unmanageable for the homeowner. The next week will be cold (below freezing at night pretty much every night), but hopefully it'll begin to get warm again soon. Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Blue sunny skies here again low dewpoint and humidity . Looking for 98° F today 101° F Tuesday . Summer is coming Proctectomy , Ileostomy , Ulcerative Colitis We had that very windy day, followed a cold day with no wind and full sun... now it's back to windy again with overcast skies. Spring is often seen as a beautiful time of the year, but it's such a mess right now! LOL 🤣 Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. Well, true to March, the weather is all over the place. Very warm one day, and cold and snowy the next. Today will be cold and overcast, with a high of 3C; tomorrow will have a high of 0 with possible snow. Ugh. I have a weaving project, so good reason to stay inside. Eric, we went to an event yesterday north of the city, and we saw a corn field full of tundra swans. I thought for sure I had missed them this year, but I guess they’re still on their way north. They are a welcome sign of spring. Laurie Just a semicolon UFO spotted in Irish Skies today, https://photos.app.goo.gl/B66FE1fMujVp6HyR9 17C with lots of sunshine 🌞 Bit of a change in the weather today https://photos.app.goo.gl/MNB1ouYPWiA8CywY6 Wild and windy but 15C Today’s prediction is for a sunny high of 10C, after a couple of cold, snowy days. Saturday is supposed to get up to 18C, but Tuesday back down to 2C. You could get whiplash this time of year from all the ups and downs. Tony, I agree with Liza - your photos are really beautiful! Edit: According to my car thermometer, it got up to 13C today! Woohoo! Small victories - you gotta take them where you can! One of the things that makes this time of year special is being able to see things that will be invisible when the trees are in leaf. I noticed last year’s oriole nests hanging from the elm branches. The weeping willows are starting to get some colour. And my heather is blooming. Spring is just around the corner. Laurie Just a semicolon Hey all! I do agree, Tony, you take beautiful photos & I'm pretty sure you were in my neighborhood with your camera. That big old tree photo of is very much the size, of my neighbour's tree. I did do a double take at first glance. Tony, please don't mind my asking, but is it your cell phone camera or do you use a real-ish one, lol? On a short walk today with my Grand, we stopped & talked to a lot of trees. So many have leaves peeking out now. It's such a nice sight to see. It was a damp sort of day yesterday & it has been raining here almost all night. We do need the water so I won't complain. I noticed that the birds finished off the suet in the feeder in record time. I hope they get a bit of a chub on to warm eggs later in spring. I love to put Missys fresh cut hair tied in bundles secured to the fence for the birds to take it to build nests. She is so over due for a her spring-ish haircut so there will be lots of bundles to put out this year . Laurie, if you don't mind sharing, what kind of a weaving project do you have lined up? I've been slowly gathering what I need for my first try at weaving. My son figures he can make me a loom, but I'm not sure. Is yours homemade, or can you recommend one for me. I need one to make different widths. While I gather all I need for the colours, I am presently working on crocheted sweater for Gwen. She saw it in a Mary Maxim magazine & fell in love with it. She kept looking at it over 3 weeks & one day showed it to me & said so sweetly, that it was " the most bootiful rainbow swedder" she'd ever seen! So I ordered the kit & surprised her with it when it arrived. Five year olds give the best hugs... ❤️ Linda Hey Linda ,it a cell phone , Samsung S25, being honest its the best fit for my hands size wise , and it takes nice enough photos , But the pixels and higher end iphones are reckoned to be a better option camera wise but the samsung is better overall for my needs I do the same with my goldens hair , I put it in bundles for the birds to line their nests , its lovely to see them with tufts of hair in their beaks . Haha yes I am in Southern California . In the middle of the Desert . Close to Palm Springs if you've ever heard of that . Real summer heat is yet to come Lol Proctectomy , Ileostomy , Ulcerative Colitis yep, I have heard of it. I’m just 2 states up, in Washington. I’m on the east side of the state, which is the desert side. Lots of sun, and gets hot in the summer. Not as hot as your area though. 🥵 -Liza
