Honestly, it’s been very ‘Canada being Canada’ the last couple days 😅 Some places are still dealing with cold and even a bit of snow, while others are finally getting a taste of spring. Feels like winter is slowly backing off, but not without a fight.

@alanklein “Canada being Canada” is a very good description. Warmer weather on the way today, after 2 days of cold with snow here in SW Ontario.

Tony, you must be getting excited to be heading for heat and sun soon.

Tony, what a lovely itinerary; we will be with you in spirit! I hope you will share your adventures with us (I am in the middle of North America and have never been overseas).

I see in the news that descendants of Canadian citizens are now declared Canadian citizens. We live a few hours south of the border and my husband and I are both descendants. My niece has applied for an official certificate for herself, her brother and her mother (my sister). That process looks rather complicated and lengthy; I’ll see how hers goes and might do that, myself. We don’t plan to move to Canada; it’s more of a birthright thing as we love and honor Canada and our ancestors around here. Has anybody else thought of doing the application for a certificate?

We had a lovely day here today.  It was a high of 22°c and sweater weather. So lovely to be outside in this warm stuff. It was about 9 overnight, very enjoyable with a slight breeze enough to be feeling it on my arms & face while in bed. I LOVE breezes like that at night.

I hope you all have a great evening & sweet dreams!

Eric, are you feeling any better?

So true. The midges are starting to come out, so warm weather is coming!

Yes, thank you for asking. I continue to have nagging coughs, which is on point with how my colds tend to behave.

@veganostomy  ... we had that kind of a cold go thru our home. For some reason i didn't get it  but, especially for our youngest member coming from the germ infested cesspool of life called school where it seems only your child knows how to wash hands. Ugh!  When she was coughing  & all stuffed & snotted up refusing to even try and blow her nose bcuz shes afraid of her own snot, and no, shes not a nose picker either, though it may be easier for her if she were... ugh.  Our gp called that nasty cough & sinus traffic jam which took forever to go away, the ""100 day cold!!""  He wasnt far off either.  His own children hd it too.  Lots of handwashing every single time you're comings in from anywhere and wiping anything touched, especially door handles and railings seemed to stop the spread. School age kids coats were washed every weekend too.  Ir was so much work but it did help. I hope this isn't the big you have.

Today's weather has started out with "Canada being Canada" a rather fitting description!! Thank you @alanklein , but by the looks of things it could turn out to be a beautiful day for a long double dog walk. Over night was on the cool-ish side with the wind blowing my curtains around & lots of wind with gusts enough to shake the house & blow young bird nests not yet fully secured from the trees.

Have a good and safe day everyone & get the rest you can get Eric. Lots of early nights helped a lot.

For sure. It's amazing to monitor my heart rate and "body battery" through my watch, which confirmed the days when my cold peaked, and when it "went away" (despite still having those lingering symptoms).

Oddly enough, whenever I get sick, I can often tell by the data that my fitness watch puts out days earlier. But this time, I woke up and was sick without warning. 😷

@veganostomy  ... I'll admit while caring for my Grand after school, having others in her family come & go,  bringing her to me bcuz my iron & B12 were sucking me dry & then they came down with that nasty cold,  stomach & bowel bug, on week 5 & I was getting a bit happy bcuz G had finished hers & the others were done & that sweet 6th week with no one sick, then *#BAM!#* it hit me hard & suddenly. 15 days of feeling like I either blew, coughed or flushed not just toenails but my soul to the sewers... Ugh! Well, it was nasty and tiring & did I say nasty...!   I really hope you don't get that nasty piece of nastiness of the form of a bug/cold/ poisonn̈źn,.

Living in such a small town sometimes we feel a bit bullet proof, but this practically shut down the elementary school & families with it.

Stay strong Eric! You are our Leader and we care about you !! .... nanu nanu... ... ...

It was very hot and humid yesterday and then it started raining and rained all through the night and now today it's much cooler more like an autumn day. Gray skies though no sun.

We had a few "very cold in the morning, then quite warm in the afternoon" days! Yesterday was sunny and in the high teens!

Lots of joggers starting to come out, kids on bikes everywhere, dogs being walked in every direction. And the bees have started to come out! 🤗

@tony-h...Those deep blue skies say it all!

Yesterday, bcuz its presently 3:50 a.m. today, my precious Grand & I worked together at cleaning up the fall & then winter bashed back deck area. Last fall after putting her blown up pool away & cleaning the whole area, ready for winter, gardens included, we had a sand & leaf, lol, storm blow through our town. What a mess that made!!

We could hear & see it coming as we were a few houses from home finishing a walk with my Grand & my little dog when a neighbour called us in to their house to get out of the wicked pelting sand. I'm SO thankful for sunglasses for children & baggy clothes to shelter her face. But the mess it left behind was a bit crazy. Leaves in places I've never found them before & dirt everywhere!!!  But between the two of us, (mostly me),  we got it half done.  Oh, I did let her help when she wanted to give it a try, needless to say, when a hose is involved with a small child, well, we both got pretty wet & had fun doing it,  but we are on our way to a much nicer smelling & cleaner deck area. Teaching her to shut the hose off between scrubs, made for an even more fun & wet hose time! Its that water pressure thing....💧

Temps reach 24°c under mostly sunny skies and I actually have sun on my face. I loved just being outdoors like that again for a good 4 hours playing with G and not just for walking the dogs! Lol! 😎

Very cold the past 3 days or so. They have switched our hvac system  over to air conditioning in the building so I cant even turn heat on if i wanted to. Its bone chilling cold in here. I used the oven earlier to heat up the place a bit.
