Stealing from Liza's by-line anything that make your bag lighter :-)

Anything that allows you more freedom, confidence and accessibility, reduces embarrassment  having access to an extra consideration we should except grateful and without little fuss. The current situation surely must demonstrate to all of us the impact on our freedom when it is limited fairly or unfairly.

the more inclusive a word becomes, the less significance it carries. disability then goes from a reason to an excuse.

I can see it now, wheel chair guy shows up at work a little late, parking lot full of handicap signs, poor guy parks at far end of lot.

good workers rarely get fired, in my experience.

LK, I empty my bag 2,  some times 3 times a day.  thick pancake that everyone here hates makes my life easier. I spend more time urinating .  would people with constipation or frequent urinators due to prostate be qualified for disability?

  how often is it portrayed, guy heading to bathroom with newspaper tucked under his arm? bathroom called the reading room?

remember, I just asked a very simple question.

@dogtalkerer Based on your description of how infrequently you empty, it is possible that you wouldn’t qualify for disability status in Canada. Since the criteria is not an ostomy, but rather the time spent on the function of elimination, the applicant would have to demonstrate that it takes at least three times as long to perform that function than it otherwise would. Therefore, frequent urination due to prostate may well qualify.

@tigerlily You are correct.

@dogtalkerer I think that with a bowel movement schedule like that, you'd be "normal" in that sense since most healthy people are using the bathroom 2-3 times a day.

Add another 10 bathroom trips with some urgency and randomness to when they happen, and you might see how needing accommodations would be a necessity for most workers.

You've been fortunate. Imagine a warehouse worker who gets penalized for taking one too many bathroom breaks. Having disability laws and accommodations so they can do their job with dignity is an important step towards employee protection.

I don't think we need to belabor this topic. I think it's clear that there are personal, tax-related, employment-related, and medical definitions of "disability" that aren't always interchangeable, yet still considered valid under many situations.

I thought it was only me that almost constantly gets pancakes. You name it I've tried all the suggestion none work. I guess its simple mechanics and a bit of physics (dare I say my knowledge of those subjects are better that the medics?) -the location and direction of output. Like you I just got use to it. life is different I live different!
