I just thought I should check again let people know that I am still here and still around. I've been lurking in the background not  participating in much of anything. But I am surfacing yet again which just amazes me. I am once again in rehab trying to get back on my my feet and back home.   This bout started on Christmas Eve. I was dehydrated from my ileostomy and needed to go to the emergency Room for fluids and I ended up being admitted to the hospital. It got to be a little bit funny in a way when the doctor would come in every morning and say I was going home the next day. Then because they had found something that they needed to look at I would spend another day and it just continued on and on. I have ended up with 2 stents in my heart  I had never had any heart issues before but all of a suddenly I had an 80% blockage in one of the main arteries that they love to call the widow maker. I was truly blessed to be in hospital as they told me that had I gone home I probably would have had a major heart attack. Then they discovered that I had pancreatic problems. And that I had had them for quite a while. They said my pancreas was shrunken covered with pre cancerous cysts and also with calcium deposits. The calcium deposits are scar tissue from previous rounds of pancreatitis. At this point we are waiting for 6 months then re doing scans to see if there has been any change. The optimal relief is to remove my pancreas but that is a very major surgery and has a high risk of dying.  I often feel like I have reached the end of my rope that is made out of a sense of humor but I keep trying to hang on.    Thank you all for continuing to tell your stories and talking about how your lives are going  as they have been encouraging to me and have given me something to hang on to. I guess this is about it for now we'll get back to you again in the near future. Best regards Barbara Jean

Barbara, it's wonderful to hear from you again, although I'm sorry that you've had a tough time over the last little while.

Did they offer any explanation as to why you suddenly developed this heart condition? I'm glad it was resolved!

Please continue to be well.

WOW what a welcome surprise to hear from you! I think of you a lot and was worried that you hadn't posted in a while.

Sorry for your recent heart and pancreas troubles.  No fun at all. And I sincerely hope you are staying away from the hospital in this terrible time.

Everyone seems to be coping the best they can right now. Do keep your sense of humor...it is true is a real support in stressful times.

Thanks for keeping in touch!

 Barbara,

I am sorry to hear everything you have been going through. It is so incredibly fortunate that they found the heart condition while you were in the hospital before they sent you home. Keep hanging on the best you can. Best wishes to you.
