Has anyone a recommendation for a good ostomy book? I have read Barbara Barrie’s and appreciated it. Did you read and like Brenda Elsagher’s books? Colostomy 4/30/18. I didn’t know there were any ostomy books. Sorry I can’t be any help. Maybe Eric (@veganostomy) could write one, in all his free time. 🤣🤣 -Liza Awesome Idea! I had no clue there was a book on ostomies let alone two. Everything I needed to know I learned at home, in Church and in Sunday School and most certainly here at VO! God Bless your heart Eric, I think you kept me somewhat sane! Linda I'm afraid I can't help there. I guess I learned all I do know from this website and from my ostomy nurses! Stella Barrie is an actress whose ostomy was:because of colorectal cancer, and it is not really an instructional book but more of her story. It is nearly 20 years old and so somewhat dated, I suppose, but it was the only thing I could find to read before my own colostomy 20 months ago, and it was a comfort and a help. I have not read Elsagher’s book but I believe it is a collection of very short stories from ostomates, nurses, and doctors. I plan to look for it. Colostomy 4/30/18. Brenda Elsagher is cancer survivor who has an ostomy and has written a number of books on her experiences. ileostomy 31st August 1994 for Crohns Thanks, Eric, I will look for it. Colostomy 4/30/18.
