Hi, hope somebody can help.Hollister seem to have different product numbers depending where you live. Here in the UK i've used 35500 (2 pc baseplate) which i like to have a supply of in my emergency bag.Would anyone be able to tell me what the product code is in USA for the same baseplate.

My prescription supplies here in UK are a one piece Hollister which i'm very happy with, but i prefer to carry 2pc supplies in an emergency bag as if i can't get access to a mirror at the correct level i find putting a 2pc on much easier. My stoma is 3 months old today. Can't thank Eric enough for all the information i learnt from his social media prior to surgery.

@SidtheStoma...welcome to VO Sid! Eric has helped us all tremendously & you were lucky to find him before your surgery.  Trust me when I say this will all be old hat in no time for you!!

There are a few here from the UK like  John68, he is a great old ( lol)  chap & he'll show up soon! About a mirror, go to the Cosmetic department & see what they have for a portable mirror like the ladies carry in their purses. A folding one with a regular mirror on one side & magnified on the other is my preference. A little craft involved you may be able to add tape to make it stand at an angle if needed.

Good luck on your new journey.  Its not a bad path it just takes planning, M9 liquid pouch deodorant, Osto EZ Vents if using a 1 pce., Erics videos & us!! Lol! Any questions don't hesitate to ask, we are all here for you!!!  Free tips for trouble shooting!! Feel free to start a new forum & tell us about yourself so we can all give you a proper welcome. 😀

Linda

In the US Hollister doesn't offer 55mm flanges. They have 57mm (2 1/4 inch) supplies.  The nearest match is Hollister 1103 or 11203 Flange to match a Hollister 18193 or 18183 pouch.

You can download the US Hollister 2020 catalog at: https://www.hollister.com/-/media/files/pdfs-for-download/catalogs/hol_2020_ostomycatalog_online.ashx

I hope the that this helps.

Welcome, Sid!

Yeah, products can vary from region to region. Hopefully, @bago sent you in the right direction for what you're looking for.

I'm a little confused by your situation. Were you planning to purchase 2pc systems from the US to ship to the UK? Or are you traveling/living in the US in the near future?

@veganostomy Thanks for all the replies.I've found non prescription supplies easier to purchase from USA! Unless i'm lucky to find something on ebay (at a sensible price) !

For example, gelling agents,i requested some samples of Gel X and was sent 9 capsules.I need 3 for every time i empty,so i had less than one days worth! As a newbie i like to try something for at least a week.It was easier to purchase a bottle of 140 from a US company so i could really see how well they helped.Gel X is now on my prescription as it helped a lot.

Can't thank you enough for the education your You tube site gave me pre surgery.

3 months on i feel like i've really started to get my life back.

Hello Sid, I use Hollister 2-piece. I tried out a sample of the Hollister stretch-to-fit plate, which requires no cutting. It is labeled as extended wear and it was something of a challenge to remove it, but I keep the one I didn’t use in my “emergency” pack, thinking that it will be so much easier not having to measure and cut if I am in a Situation.

Colostomy 4/30/18.

If you speak with your stoma nurse you should be able to get them to prescribe a two piece bag as well. you may have to after the initial order alternate the month of ordering the different bags. IE 1 piece one month, two piece other, this is dependant on your GP practise all to do with funding, some will only do 1 prescription for ostomy products per month?, however they have to supply what the stoma nurse prescribes. Speak to them nicely when you put your request ;-)

That's wild! Wow.

It honestly pains me the length that many of us still have to go through just to get supplies that are a) available b) affordable c) covered by insurance.

Another interesting point, i find my stoma protrudes more with a 2 pc baseplate. Is this 'normal'.As a newbie i've no idea.
