One more thing...Mio Click system.  Hellovatime  getting click system to "click".  No problem when it was not on the skin.  Soooo.  Put click system together after I cut the hole and applied it as if it was a 1-piece system.  TA-DA!!!  Now wearing "Click" system without problems.  It is "locked" in place and feels great.  I also put an Osto EZ Vent on it so I wouldn't have to try and "burp" the bag and possibly having the pouch come off.  HAPPY CAMPER now.  

Hi Eric, I just received the 725 high out put bag.. As the above article here. sent me the flat waffer not light convetx.. Surprised that they sent this to me so fast tho ..   will call them Monday after infusion and see if they can sent me what I need as a convetx. 

So far the it seems ( I see) comfortable and easy to use.. It is the mio...... but flat waffer. :-( Marcie............  Anyone interested if they don't want it back I can send to you.. Eric??

If you have a local ostomy group, they may be able to use them for patients who can' aaford ssupplies. Even though they are samples, they can still be useful to someone. 

Oh I do that a lot.. I have a great support group.. here, but between the cold and the bad flu around (Ct. /USA, 11 deaths of the flu just last week = 32 deaths in 6 weeks) so I don't go out in closed in areas. Missed the meeting last night.. But it will got to good use to someone if they don't want it back for a trade. (cost to much for them ship back)

Hi Kathy, welcome........... I also have a high output. In the first year or so, I was emptying a good or more 30 times a day.. I am an ileosyomy.. Things should settle down for you..  Glad that the lomotil is working for you at such a short amount of time of your surgery.. :-)  These and the rest of meds never helped me at all--  My upper G.I. Dr. gave me loperamide 2 mg. Your Dr. will let u know later on if these capsules r right for u.  I take 3 in them morning with food -cherroes 1/2 banana is a must.. and o.j. I have a rather good day. lunch- I take 2 more.. and then 3 or 4 late day-- BUT I HAD TO WORK THIS UP FOR ME OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS.. You may be different.. As we all are.. These r in the same family as what your taking.. but in capsules. $500.00/month without insurance.. :-( 

As for taking capsules-- a stiff food is necessary.. Mashed potatoes, 1/2  banana, oatmeal. OR just try eating these foods to help keep your out put less liquid. TRY FOODS ON A LESS SIDE, until you get to know your body...... Fluids are necessary between each bites..  also snack on cherroe's raw at night-but not to much as fear of blockage.. And some saltines crackers. Try to stay away from lots of fluids at night before bed.. like 2 + hours..

You will get the hang of it.......... I am sure that you will be just fine. M. 

Good luck Kathy-Your still in the early stages, and (my) above meds will not be necessary-- It has been 3 1/2 years for me.. Doctors and I are still working on me...  Just try to relax and get to know your stoma--what did u name it?  Mine is Nellie--whooooooooooa Nellie. :-)

You can buy loperamide 2 mg. ( Imodium) over the counter . I buy the Walmart brand . Pharmacist told me to take with just a little sip of water and wait 30 min before I eat or drink anything rise . Other wise you will flush medicine out before you abrsorb it .

Finding a mussel of steady formation has been difficult for me the past few years.. Re: B-12--but on to better things..

The pills I am telling are exactly what you are using . No need to pay high for the exact thing over the counter . Having an Ileostomy we need to take them differently. With very little water so they obsorb . Having get them with a bowl of cheerios washes them through too fast .

So far the last 2 years it has worked for me.. cheerios with some milk, with a 1/2 banana o.j.  I don't have to empty for 3 hours.. Then the empty is thick -- until late afternoon..... That is when the magic happen!! LIQUID...  for the precption, I pay only 30.00 dollars for 800 capsules. Over the counter?  IT 15 dollars for 20 pills.  seem to be a go-go girl and somehow with these, they stay out with what I eat for breakfast. -Ya, Nellie is a go- go- girl.. in a cage in the 60's.. A real mover!!!!!! (remember those days?) Except I am to old for that any more.. So, I got Nellie.. I am trying Bubbles............ Thanks for your help.. As always my best to you!! M.

Tony, For the gas. my support group all have and now DO this:  eat some crackers like saltines during the day-just a few to keep inside your empty stomach.. I/we do this at night time -- really helps the bloating.. gas.. 4-5 is a decent amount.. more if needed.. Helps with the liquid output too. I said helps.................. Good luck!! 

Marcie, codeine slows down the peristalsis process . That , in turn, gives your intestines an opportunity to absorb the excess fluid . That,  in turn, thickens the effluent . 

I believe that is what you want and need desperately. 

You take it exactly as your doctor prescribes. DO NOT DEVIATE as it is a powerful drug.

My "Z" I think I may do that instead of Gattex.. Going to my primary Dr. tomorrow.. 

Does this make you sick? Doped up? Do u take every day?  ^^^ Yes, I know it is a powerful drug.. which I hate to get into.. That is why I said no last year. 

I took it 47 years ago right after my honeymoon-had a tooth extracted.. 1 day after we got home.. Gave me this in liquid form and WOW! It made me so sick I was on the floor in such pain!! Then I took it again 20 minutes later it happened again.. (Dr. orders) So I just live with pain.. I guess that is why I got into such problems 3 1/2 years ago and got my Nellie.. Boy was I sick!! As u all know..

Yes I have seen this.. Eric has a video about these also. I received a 2 FLAT one (I cant wear flat) from Mio.  Seems nice.  I think I would prefer a 2 piece tho.  And a soft convetx. Easy to operate... Soft... And NOT clear.. :-) The extension hose not included.. Mighty BIG!!!

Z, Doctors say that my small bowel is NOT working at all.. I am slowly dying.. I have known this for 2 years. I was in hope that things would make a turn for the better.. I will try Gattex for now.  And leave the opoin -sp- for my last days.. :-)  Codeine did not work either.. Gives me a rash but more hot and itching all over.. Then they tried to reverse this with medications to ease the itching.. Didn't even get a HIGH!! That was when I just cried in front of people.. totally discusted !!!!!! No one see me cry!!!!!!!!! 

So I remain a wall flower-connected to a wall 3 times a week.. as of the past year, this is only a band aid.. for me. And if things don't turn around it will be more times at infusions.. BIGGER BAND AIDS!!! Huh? Naaa.. I don't think that I will go that route.. IF it is just band aiding me--time to see heaven again and stay there this time!! Third time is the charm.. :-)

Concentrate your efforts and energies on what you actually do have control over. I have a friend with ALS who controls his eyelids and eyeballs. Who is a fantastic thinker. He found a way to communicate with me through his computer. He doesn't feel sorry for himself. He accepted his limits. 

2. We Jews have a saying . 

Don't tell God how big your problems are, tell your problem how big God is.

Works for me and it will work for you, too.
