I placed an order through Byram a couple weeks ago and received everything with no problem.  No delay in delivery from FedEx.  👍

unlike hand sanitizer and toilet paper, its highly unlikely any shortages will develop, at $100 per box(my cost for 20), ostomy bags would be very costly to hoard.  since most people are on insurance, again hoarding not really likely.

everybody , look at your ostomy box for the manufacture date.  mine was well over a year ago, that gives you a little indication as to supply numbers.    the one guy here a while back complained his box was expiring in 10months.   if the manufacturers dates were close to the current date that would suggest low amounts of reserve supplies.

@dogtalkerer

I wonder how long it would take for supplies to actually run dry if all manufacturing stopped. Knowing that might ease minds, but realistically, it seems like the only problems encountered have been at the retail/distribution level, not the manufacturer or raw material side.

It’s been a while since I have been here but I love this information that is featured here because we all need to know that we can get all of our supplies

Hi Folks, I hope everyone is keeping well, We will all have different advice on the lockdown depending where we live. Here in my neck of the woods the NHS has said they are seeing a fall in hospital attendance. While some appointments may be cancelled and people may be cautious or not wanting to be a burden! People’s health may be at risk not just from covid 19 but from untreated ailments. So if you need to attend call and ask the hospital what can be sorted or done in a safe and different way. Again everyone stay safe and look after your health in every way 👍👍

@john68 I'm hearing that some places will start to offer elective surgeries again, which would affect people who are waiting to have a stoma.

Hopefully, the transition back to "normal" is smooth for everyone.

Hi Folks, this is just a wee story of Hope courage and determination!! If you haven’t heard of a guy called Captain Tom please google. It sounds if he may be a super hero 🦸‍♀️ well he is but instead of a cape he has a walking frame. Plus he’s 100 years young today. He started walking to raise money for Medical staff fighting covid 19. He was doing laps of his garden. His efforts have went way beyond what he set out to do. To date he has raised ÂŁ31 000 000 . His catch phrase is “Tomorrow will be a better day “ wot a guy 👍👏👍

That's amazing! Most celebrities with a seemingly unlimited number of social media followers can't even touch that number. What a champ!

@john68 Just looked Captain Tom up online - such wonderful stories in the news (and there is a WikiPedia page about him) and what a well-lived and interesting life. Best wishes to him on his birthday, and great appreciation for all he has done to make the world a good place. A great man.

.... 10 hours later - his story was on tv news here. Incredible service over a lifetime, very awe-inspiring.

What a great example to living he is! Thank you for bringing him forward here. Heaven knows he deserves the recognition!

Hi Mariedianels,

I'm not sure what a "purge mask" is, but N95 or equivalent is usually the standard. For cloth masks, it's recommended that you use 3-ply with a tightly woven fabric.

The World Health Organization has some very good resources regarding masks available here: https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public/when-and-how-to-use-masks

I have had no problems with getting ostomy supplies here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They only thing was a bit slower in delivery times, as the place I order it from had fewer employees during the pandemic. Even though it was only one or two days slower, so it didn't affect me as I always make sure I have enough supplies on hand that I won't run out.
