The last few days have been eating a handful of peanuts. Chewing well. But large output has been on and off since. Will stop eating them to see if the Peanuts are the cause. I had heard that some people suffer blockage. It seems I have the opposite? Any suggestions?? Will stop eating them to see if the Peanuts are the cause. I would give that a try. I had heard that some people suffer blockage. It seems I have the opposite? For many people (including myself), one sign of a blockage can be diarrhea as the body tries to loosen and flush the blockage out. With a colostomy, the risk of blockage isn't as high as with an ileostomy, so it may not be a blockage. If you rule out everything else, hopefully eliminating the peanuts will improve things. When you are back to normal output, try the peanuts again and see if it causes problems. Keep us posted! Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate. have you been logging all your diarrhea occurrances? this is not normal, you should be speaking to doctors about your problem. you could have a partial kink in your intestine that is causing a blockage that gets relieved by your body creating diahrrea. i had a dog doing this, he had a large mass on the base of his tail inside the anus. this caused normal poop to go to constipation, then diarrhea, then back to normal. I agree with veganostomy that blockages can cause diarrhea. For just regular watery poop I eat banana, rice or potatoe to thicken but if you have blockage best to see doctor.
