Today I changed my appliance due to pretty crazy itch. That's not the concern though. Oscar has lighter colored tissue at the top near the opening. Is this normal? I took pics. With and without flash.

Have you used stoma powder? That's what it looks like when it's "dried" to my stoma - but if you haven't, have a nurse look at it just in case.

In all my time I ain,t seen any thing like that, as Eric says let the nurse have a look. I have to give you top marks for that skin, well done you.

No stoma powder used, I've been pretty minimal with what I use. A thin coat of paste, no rings as they cut down my wear time (7 days!). Not paste either which was my thought. I change at 7 days or first itch/ tickle feeling. No sore/ red spots needing powder to help them heal.

Lots of mucous around the stoma, that's what I thought it was until it did not wipe off.

I wouldn't be alarmed, but I'd still have a stoma nurse double-check to make sure it's nothing to be concerned about.

If you do get an answer, I'd be interested in knowing what it is.

No lube used. It looks like it is just sitting on the surface.

Pretty in pink!!! ???????  Pouting as a child??  Maybe some natural air to it for a few minutes?

Looks clean and healthy to me.. nice/decent  size too.  (lucky)

You said you don't use paste and then u do.. Why not a seal ring? what is the difference?

Past to me was hard to get off and hard on my stoma after getting it off. What is your secret??

Maybe she got tangled up in a bubble of ?? A lost fart maybe?????

Secret is a thin schmear of paste around the hole. I'm kind of firm plump, not rollie plump so no pockets/ wrinkles/ divots to fill. Removal is soaking the tape section with adhesive remover. The rest of it gets more remover added. Very liberal with it. I figure less tuggin/ pulling the better for tender belly skin. I don't use soap on the area, warm water and as many wash cloths as I feel the need for.

The no was for stoma powder. Since the little pimples I got back when it's been pretty clear and not needed powder.

I got some really good point point some tips from Eric about how to use the paste. I'm going to be trying it when I get home it's something that I have a tendency to need you probably saw from the picture that I sent a while ago that there's some extra skin and things like that around. I've lost 100 pounds in the last year and a quarter and the skin for that is still there there's nothing in it and it just kind of lays around gets in the way. One of these days when I get totally fed up with it I'll probably have to have plastic surgery to get rid of it but so far I've had enough surgery for a while

Eh, can't edit to include but I'll be seeing dad this weekend, he's a 20+ year nurse, I'll show him the pics and see what he thinks. I also plan to pop Oscars Pouch off tonight, give him a wipe down and see if it's changed anymore.

Return of crazy itch. Redid everything, two small red bumps in the tape area. Cleaned em, applied barrier and gave Oscar a good ogle. All clear.

I suspect now that it might have been something I ate. Specifically a peppermint creme jelly candy that I had a handful of. I had precipitate in my output like a dirty snowglobe. I think it might have attached firmly onto Oscar... It also could have been peppermint M&Ms...

I'll try more for science later...

Funny how some things we have always eat can suddenly out of the blue become trouble some. Wheat meat biscuits had a few the other night ( well maybe more than a few) and boy do I know about it.
