I have a Hernia that is behind the Stoma. In applying the Eakin barrier, I do it 2 ways. Either fitted around the Stoma or around the opening of my Appliance. However, there is a slight 'dip' on right side, creating an uneven surface because of Hernia. The barrier seems to slightly erode or disappear, exposing a small area of skin. Other than this, rest of skin is adequately protected. I keep small area clean that is exposed. Is there a way to apply the barrier to make sure it doesn't pull away??

I think what might be happening is that’s the side with your shape that’s getting the most output and doing all the hard work. The ring is being degraded, some rings will degrade quicker than others. I hear Eric and others say coloplast lasts well. Plus please don’t be offended at me saying body shape!! I have the same and use a welland ring. This ring stands up well but I don’t think it’s available outside the UK. 🤔👍

@john68 Thanks for the response John. It's always a very small area where it happens. I just keep an eye on it and keep it clean. Since my surgery in March, there has never been a leak onto any part of my skin. So, I must be doing something right. 👍
