I just received ostomy boxer shorts that I recently ordered.  They have a high waistband and a pocket inside.  The pocket supports the ostomy, while the waistband is high enough to go over the top of the pouch.  No more sleeping with the pouch flopping around.  It is very comfortable.  I'm excited.  It's the little things.  And, while my wife is completely okay with my ostomy, Im sure she appreciates not rolling over at night and hugging my full pouch by accident.  It's all tucked away now.  I also use a wrap during the day to keep the pouch in place.  Once I was healed enough to get around, I could not figure out how I'd be able to be comfortable with the dangling pouch as I went about my day.  The wrap as solved that problem completely.  I'm so appreciative for the effort that so many people have put into helping ostomates deal with problems that are uniquely ours.  Just thought I'd share.

Hey Eric:

I didn't know if I should mention brands.  I got them both from OSTOmysecrets.  The boxers are the regular fly (not horizontal).  They are great, but my one complaint is that the pocket inside goes all the way across (about a foot wide) so the pouch can kind of slide around in there.  I think I will fix that with a sewing machine.   For the wraps, I got the medium classic wrap in black a while back and thought it was a bit constricting (I pull it over the top portion of my pants).  So this time I ordered the white in a large.  They both work great.  I'll use the medium for more physical activities, like running, and the large for everyday.  They tend to run a bit small, since I'm pretty small after surgery and recovery, and I still need a large.  It's funny, at first I thought a wrap would squash my stoma.  I'm very protective of my stoma, being a newbie, and my stoma is certainly an outie (about 3 cm or so).  But it works well, and once I got over seeing the little guy looking squashed (I like to wear clear bags), I don't think about it anymore.

Hey, this is a a topic for another post, but I really like your video about amusement parks.  My daughters love amusement parks, and we will be riding lots of roller coasters as soon as our local park, Lagoon (Near Salt Lake City, Utah), opens.  The girls love that place.  I was concerned about my surgery and amusement parks, but your video gave me reassurance.  I think I'll be ready in a couple of months!

Take care,

Glenn

I appreciate your holding back on posting brand names. Unless it's a blatantly commercial post where you stand to benefit (i.e. you work for the company), please use brand names whenever you like. It helps people to find new products or recommendations.

I am glad that you like those items! Yes, narrowing that inner pocket will improve the experience for sure - they likely made it long to accommodate every type of ostomate.

Lagoon looks like a fun place! They do have auxiliary entrances for people with disabilities if you plan to make use of that. They also have a re-ride policy, which is pretty cool.
