We're all going through the same struggle with food prices, gas prices, and just about everything else going up, but today is the first time I noticed that my ostomy supplies went up. About $5 per box for 1pc bags.

Not huge, but it adds up once you consider how many boxes the average ostomate goes through.

I'm sure other supplies have also gone up (gauze went up 40%!). 😫

Has anyone else been seeing the same?

Just your friendly neighborhood ostomate.

Yes sir!! M9 has gone up and the Osto EZ Vents too. Everything else is covered thru the pharmacy...so far.

I went a week without the vents & ugh!!! I am so grateful I can so far manage to buy them and the M9, but I have had to choose between some vitamins and these 2 supplies now.

Thanks Eric, your always on the ball!!

Linda

That's a shame, so I guess everything has gone up.

I'm going to roll with the 1pc system for as long as I can, since they are the least expensive option, and they've been working well for me, but I also have to watch my spending on these supplies since I no longer have private insurance.

I haven’t noticed any price hikes here in Saskatchewan for ostomy products as a f yet and I bought extra for now just in case. Food prices is different however. I’ve drastically cut back on meat and out garden began producing cucumbers, zucchini’s and onion. We have several edible weeds which I discovered are quite lovely raw or cooked. But I notice I eat more and never fully satisfied 😂 The down side is Im always having to empty my pouch lately as all this fine fibre goes through me sometimes seems like minutes!

question for you Eric how do you cope as a vegan ? The only thing I notice I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and apart of some smaller amounts of meat ive began cooking vegetables with eggs which seems to leave me more satisfied. But I’ll quickly get tired of eggs soon at this rate. I’d like to incorporate more vegetarian meals but feel satisfied after. Any suggestions?
