John, let it pass and wear loose pants......... Do u  have a filter on your pouch? Is it old? not working? Sometimes our intestines can knot up or twist just because.. so, that may be it.. also--  Nothing to worry about my Dr. said-this can happen-but if a lot of pain come see me she said.. I had to take off my NU-Hope pouch again-today as it blew up like crazy -gas--(has no filter) and had back up--Well,, Nellie broke loose big time and happier now-- I think that I/we r eating to  much lately-- mostly me- trying to gain weight- (didn't work) so back to eating less and little during the day- not a full stomach-- As u said which I never thought of= the mind doesn't hear the stomach its has enough.. so I kept eating until I was satisfied.. Another health issue of wellness for us ostomates to THINK of..  And yes, John, drinking more during eatings.. helps I think and I need more as u all know my Club Med visits 3 x a week-- DONT FORGET-NO STRAWS  !!!!! Gives gas......too.. Fun being an Ostomate huh???

Best passage to u John.. Marcie......

Still feel like I have lead in my tummy-- How about you Barb?

HI Marcie, don,t use a pouch with a filter, any time it fills with gas I burp it. Eric done an interesting blog on it. great tip just be careful until you get used to it !! Some times we are our own worst enemy I really have to stop myself going to the cupboard when I am up during the night.

Hey John,

Is your stomach just becoming distended or are you having a lot of gas that goes along when it happens?

Hey Eric, yep the tummy feels distended, the amount of gas or output would not seem to be enough to cause it.

John, do u still have your gull bladder?  If so, a Gull Bladder attack can cause feelings of bloating all around in any area of this area, Doesn't have to be localized..  Pain and or pressure can go up into your shoulders-all over--like your having a heart attack--IF this goes on longer-get to a Dr. Gas  pains are very painful-- I thought that I was having a lost fart so to speak- (that is a common saying in the ER like noting is wrong--haha) then I got into a real mess. IF you can take a nice hot/or vey warm bath to relax your mussles, Have a nice cup of tea/grape juice warmed during this.. try to relax.  If there is anything  like your pasta? this will help relax the mussles.. and things should pass a bit- the gas has to be moved around.  Gas does not have to be extended only into your pouch......... I get this sometimes also now and then-- But --- not like the Gull Bladder experance that it ended up to be after a bit of these feelings that your having.. If your up to it, more walking is best-- (can be tireing I know)  *and grape juice is good to pass a blockage-- just grape juice ONLY!! *** IF it is a blockage--but anything to get this feeling out of your system-- u can only try to help yourself if and IF you need to see a Dr. U can tell them u tried what is within proper directions of home remedies on  a light side as an Ostomate.. Hope you feel better soon, Marcie..... Keep that smile !!!!!!!!!! :-) sometimes we just have to grin and bear it..

Stay out of the PUBS for a bit huh? Best, M.

Hey John

I think you said before that you generally eat small meals and snacks instead of large meals . Have you changed and started eating larger meals ? How about your overall eating of what you eat and drink have you changed any of that besides the pasta ?

He wont drown-as he/we have our own floating device..:-) "puff the magic dragon" Peter, Paul and Mary-- love them too--

Hey Eric, yep the tummy feels distended, the amount of gas or output would not seem to be enough to cause it.

I won't even hazard to guess what it could be, but if it's troubling you enough I'd check in with your doc to see if they can find a cause.

If it's good related then keeping a food diary should help you nail down the culprit (and I hope it's not the pasta 🍝).

Cheers for all the advice, Its worth a visit to see the doc, funny the last visit to see my GP he had made an appointment with a dietitian for me. The reason back then was its been years since I seen one so will ask where I am with that. keeping a food diary will do, at this time the pasta seems to be the main culprit and bread also on the list.
